Contiki and Hirestreet unveil new collection for winter sun seekers

Group travel expert for 18-35 year olds, Contiki, has partnered with the UK's leading online fashion rental platform, Hirestreet, to curate a new clothing collection in an effort to encourage travellers to rent their holiday wardrobe instead of buying new.

Building on research for the travel brand's Clothes Swap campaign, which last year shed light that two thirds of new holiday clothing purchases by young Brits are never worn again*, the collaboration is in response to increased demand for more sustainable clothing options.  

Holiday clothing rentals are on the rise – Hirestreet has grown over 800% in the past year, with holidays consistently appearing as one of the top searched occasion categories. Their research found that on average customers take three holiday rentals away with them - making a saving of approximately £250 compared to buying the items outright.**

The new 'Winter Sun' collection includes a range of women's dresses, co-ords and jumpsuits, specially selected to suit trips to warm weather destinations from Africa and the Middle East, to Asia, Australia and Latin America. Premium quality pieces are available to rent at an accessible price point, from just £12.

The rental process is simple:

  • Browse the collection (filter by size, style or occasion to find your perfect match)
  • Select your delivery date and rental period from 4 to 16 days (an extended rental period can be requested)
  • Receive your item/s and pack in your suitcase
  • Return your item/s by popping in the pre-paid returns bag and dropping it off at your local Post Office
