Renowned as Hollywood's playground for nearly a century, Palm Springs' celebrity credentials stretch far beyond the Palm Springs International Film Festival and 2020 is no exception as the desert city is gearing up to offer visitors the chance to holiday like an A-lister 365 days a year! Whether guests want to sleep on the same sheets as Hollywood legends at a Palm Springs hotel, stay at Leonardo DiCaprio's house, visit Elvis Presley's very own Honeymoon Hideaway or dine at the Rat Pack's favourite hangout there's plenty to explore in Palm Springs in 2020.

Sleep like the stars…

The after party of this year's film festival took place at The Parker, a Palm Springs institution with a unique luxury feel, a retro-cool design and acres of lush gardens to enjoy. Over the years, the hotel has welcomed a string of A-listers through its doors making it a firm favourite for those wanting to experience the city in the footsteps of their celebrity heroes.

Those wanting to stay in the very homes once graced by some of the world's biggest stars have plenty of options in Palm Springs too, from Frank Sinatra's Twin Palm Estate which comes complete with a recording studio and a piano-shaped swimming pool, to Kirk Douglas House which was awarded historic Class 1 status this month and the Howard Hughes Mini Estate where the likes of Smokey Robinson and Eva Gabor were known to holiday. Leonardo DiCaprio's secluded 432 Hermosa is also one of the finest examples of Mid-Century architecture in Southern California and can be booked exclusively.

Those looking for the ultimate in timeless luxury in Palm Springs should opt for Elizabeth Taylor's former Palm Springs home, Casa Elizabeth. Guests can step back in to history at this private desert oasis, where the walls are still adorned with pieces from Taylor's extensive collection of art, photography and paintings.

Eat with the Hollywood elite…

As he accepted the 'Director of the Year' award for Once Upon A Time ... in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino is reported to have shared that he had spent the day drinking at the Blue Coyote Bar & Grill in Palm Springs. The beloved restaurant, famous for its Wild Coyote margaritas, has been around for nearly 30 years and is a must visit on any itinerary. Another stop not to miss is one of the city's most iconic eateries, Melvyn's at Ingleside Inn, which is steeped in Hollywood history; affectionately remembered as 'The Rat Pack Hangout', it remains a magnet for the celebrity jet set in the 21st century.

Those wanting to dine like Frank Sinatra should make a reservation at Johnny Costa's Ristorante, established by the former personal chef of the crooner and still serving up some of Ol' Blue Eyes' favourite dishes to this day, including Steak Sinatra - New York strips with vegetables in a wine sauce. The restaurant remains in the Costa family and is now run by Johnny's son.

Mister Parker is another celebrity hotspot, where actors and performers visiting the city can often be seen eating, or for a more casual meal Sherman's Deli has had a cult following since it opened 1953, including the King of Rock 'n' Roll who loved its hot pastrami sandwiches. The glamorous atmosphere of The Purple Palm will remind guests of Tinsel Town's illustrious past while The Tropicale, housed in a former Cadillac garage, stands out thanks to its neon-lit exterior and retro tropical interior owned by Tony Di Lembo, Barbra Streisand's former personal chef!

Follow in the footsteps of the stars…

The Hollywood jet set doesn't just come to Palm Springs to relax - a long string of productions has also been shot in the city since the 1920s, including A Star is Born (2018), Ocean's 11 (2001), American Gigolo (1980) and James Bond's Diamonds are Forever (1971), so it's the perfect place to spot some iconic movie locations. Palm Springs is also set to feature in a new romantic comedy starring Andy Samberg this year, which will premiere in cinemas in 2020.

At Palm Springs' very own Walk of Stars visitors can also see the names of timeless icons such as Sophia Loren and Lauren Bacall embedded in the sidewalk, with new celebrities honoured every few weeks - Coachella favourite Keisha D is the latest addition.

What's more, running from 13th - 23rd February 2020, the upcoming 15th Modernism Week will showcase Palm Springs' design heritage, with highlights including Elvis Presley's futuristic Honeymoon Hideaway, originally dubbed 'the house of tomorrow'. If visitors can't be at Palm Springs during the festival, the city's historical society also offers a selection of walking tours throughout the year which explore the celebrity neighbourhoods of the city.
