Hottest Investment Deals, Executives Honored at ALIS

LOS ANGELES — Today the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS), honored the executives and companies responsible for the most influential hotel industry deals in 2019 with the prestigious ALIS awards. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, January 29, during the ALIS conference, which runs January 27-29, 2020 at the JW Marriott and Microsoft Theater at L.A. LIVE. Nominees for the awards are evaluated based on outstanding business performance in various industry sectors. 

The TWA Hotel in New York, NY was named Development of the Year (Full Service) 2019 (includes branded and unbranded - luxury and upper upscale chain scales, and casinos). Finalists in this category also Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards in New York, NY and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Hollywood, FL.

AC Hotel by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott, and SpringHill Suites by Marriott Nashville Downtown/Convention Center in Nashville, TN was named Development of the Year Select/Limited Service 2019 (includes branded and unbranded - upscale, upper midscale, midscale, and economy chain scales). Finalists in this category also included citizenM Boston North Station in Boston, MA and the Moxy NYC East Village in New York, NY.

1 Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach, FL was named Transaction of the Year (Over US$25M) 2019. Finalists in this category also included Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, FL and The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe in Truckee, CA.

Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro in Boston, MA was named Transaction of the Year (US$25M & Under) 2019. Finalist in this category also included Casa Ocean Hotel in Miami Beach, FL.

Aimbridge Hospitality merged with Interstate Hotels & Resorts was named Merger & Acquisition of the Year 2019. Finalists in this category also included LVMH's acquisition of Belmond Ltd. and Park Hotels & Resorts' acquisition of Chesapeake Lodging Trust.

Kevin Davis, Managing Director, JLL was named Jack A. Shaffer Financial Advisor of the Year 2019. Finalists in this category also included Naftali Holtz, Former Managing Director, Goldman, Sachs & Co., and Helen Zaver, Senior Vice President, Colliers International.

JP Ford chaired the ALIS Development of the Year committee, John Karver chaired the Transaction of the Year committee, Michael Murphy chaired the ALIS Merger & Acquisition of the Year committee and Thomas J. Corcoran chaired the ALIS Jack A. Shaffer Financial Advisor of the Year committee.
