Day Out With The Kids have released the Top 50 Seaside Towns and Treasure Trails are delighted to discover that over 40 locations included feature a Treasure Trail!

Families planning a day by the seaside can uncover nostalgic activities like building sandcastles, walking along piers and enjoying an ice cream alongside an adventure with Treasure Trails.

The national family listing site for happy parents looking to entertain little ones conducted the survey of over 2,000 families that like to be by the seaside and have dug up the top 50 seaside towns. Using data such as the 'best fish and chip shops', 'family attractions', 'Blue Flag Beaches', 'cost of an ice cream' and 'average temperatures' they whittled it down to a fantastic list.

Among the Top 10 includes a Murder Mystery in St Ives, a Treasure Hunt on the Brighton Seafront and a Spy Mission on the shores of Whitby.

  1. Bournemouth Central

Crack the code on this Spy Mission Trail that leads Trailers through Bournemouth centre stopping off at the cricket and bowling green on your task to find the clues.

  1. Brighton

Swashbuckling adventure awaits those who plan to take on the Treasure Hunt on Brighton Seafront. Infamous pirate Hairy John has been captured however a set of clues has been left, leading to the location of his buried treasure.

  1. Torquay

Make like Miss Marple and uncover the culprit on this Murder Mystery which takes trailers along the promenade, around the harbour to The Grand Hotel.

  1. Weymouth

Budding buccaneers will need to look high and low for clues on this Treasure Hunt. Follow the Trail along Weymouth promenade, discover where Tom Hardy wrote his first novel and find the final clue at the Pavilion.

  1. Blackpool

Trailers will need to put on their detective hats for this Murder Mystery that takes in the North Pier, Grand Theatre and world-famous Blackpool Tower.

  1. St Ives

The artist community has been shocked by the death of infamous artist Ivanta Paintalot and Trailers are tasked with uncovering whodunit. Pass through cobbled streets, old taverns and fishermen's cottages whilst solving riddles and looking for clues.

  1. Newquay

There has been a murder most foul in the UK's surf capital, passing the harbour, aquarium and up to the headland to look out over the Atlantic Sea families will need to have their wits about them to find the culprit.

  1. Paignton

Look for gold on this Treasure Hunt exploring the Eastern Esplanade including the harbour, parks and gardens of this Victorian seaside town. Hop on to Paignton Pier looking for clues and explore the surrounding beaches which stretch for miles.

  1. Whitby

Spies beware on the Whitby West Cliff & Pannett Park Treasure Trail which leads wannabe James Bond's on a mission through the park and valley, up to the Abbey before heading down to finish on the West Pier.

  1. Bognor Regis

This piratical adventure will take Trailers on a Treasure Hunt through the famous seaside town Bognor Regis, searching high and low for clues in Hotham Park with it's miniature railway, the seafront and past the mini golf before finishing along the promenade past the pier.
