The luxurious, five-star, all-suite hotel, Alàbriga Hotel & Home Suites on the Costa Brava, is delighted to announce that they have been chosen by Moda España, The Confederation of Fashion Companies of Spain, to host the 2019 Sustainable Luxury Conference on the 19th and 20th of July 2019, with the focus on the ethical approach to modern luxury.
Moda España was created in 2013 and aims to unite the entire fashion value chain of Spain. The Fashion Confederation Spain is a great institutional platform created and supported by different institutions of the fashion sector; ranging from design, making and manufacturing, to distribution and sale.
The choice of Alàbriga Hotel & Home Suites is inspired as the 29 all-suite hotel is very much design-led by Valeri Scherer (concept and creative idea) and DNA Architects (architectural design) who were inspired by the sight of yachts moored in the charming coves. Overlooking the bay of San Pol, the building is designed in a wave pattern with the suites, each with terraces, facing the sea. The décor has been carefully curated with details handcrafted by specialists. Bespoke furnishings and textures set the tone for the hotel interiors, all from exclusive collections specially designed by prestigious names in the interior design sector such as Armani Casa, Baccarat installations, Carrera marble, and Donghia textiles.
With sustainability and the ethical approach to high-end fashion being such a hot topic with VIP's such as Livia Firth, Leonardo di Caprio, Gisele Bundchen, and Elon Musk all highlighting the importance of sustainability in the industry, the discussions at the conference will highlight relevant topics such as the social responsibility of brands and the ethical approach to high end fashion.
Guests will hear from renowned speakers from across the fashion industry including:
BRUNO DE ANGELIS, Head of the CONDÉ NAST group in Spain
MATEA BENEDETTI, fashion designer
NIGEL GRIFFITHS, Managing Director, ADIDAS Group Iberia, Spain
ASSUMPTA DANGLA, PhD Curator of the Textile Printing Museum of Premià de Mar ( Barcelona)
ALENKA SLAVINEC, photographer, UN Ambassador for the Environmental issues, Slovenia
SYLVIA CALVOS, representative of the Sustainable Fashion Association AGIMOD (Girona)
During the 2019 Sustainable Luxury Conference, there will be panel discussions with world-class fashion designers, fashion editors, journalists, models, photographers, business people, owners of fashion brands, personal stylists, bloggers, and young designers.
