Celebrate Queen Victoria's 200th birthday at Blists Hill

Spring half-term holiday 25 May – 2 June

Join the residents of Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge as they celebrate the 200th birthday of their much loved Queen Victoria during the spring half-term school holiday between Saturday 25 May and Sunday 2 June.

Queen Victoria's birthdays and jubilees were marked with much patriotic pomp and pageantry across the nation. At Blists Hill, the Townsfolk will be in great party spirit making merry with lots of fun activities for all to enjoy.

Chat to the costumed residents in their cottages and places of work, see the historic streets decorated with yards of bunting and walk down to The Green where the Victorian fun fair will be in full swing.  Gather around the flag pole at 11.30am outside the Boys Brigade Hut and watch the Union Flag being raised, then sing the national anthem led by Mr Plimley, the Victorian school master, and give three cheers to Her Majesty.

Dress up in Victorian costume and have your picture taken by the portrait photographer, take a ride in the horse and cart and enter your four-legged friend in the fun dog show on The Green at 2.30pm with token prizes for the winners.

Feeling hungry, then tuck into some traditional fish and chips at the Fish Fryers, or pop into the New Inn for a sing-a-long and some tasty refreshments. Alternatively, bring your own picnic and a rug to sit on The Green and watch the festivities.
