Brands booking last-minute to ensure a presence at Travel Influencer Marketplace.
Over 200 travel influencers have registered for sit-UP, TravMedia UK's brand new business-focused event connecting the travel industry with the influencer market (www.situpevent.com).
The event takes place on 26 March 2019 at the QEII Centre, London, and combines a conference, influencer marketplace and awards ceremony.
Top-level brands are signing up last minute to ensure a presence at sit-UP's Travel Influencer Marketplace, the three-hour networking marathon where influencers hold meetings at the stands of participating brands. New signings include Cook Islands, German National Tourist Office, isango!, Travel Alberta, Turismo Lanzarote, Visit Belfast, Visit Britain and WOW air.
The final deadline for brands and influencers to enter the sit-UP awards has also been extended to Friday 8 March, to cope with demand for late entries.
Among the influencers recently registering are Alex Outhwaite (A Life Well Travelled); Andrew and Emily (Along Dusty Roads); Becky Excell (Becky Excell); Conor MacNeill (thefella); Cory Varga (You Could Travel); Fiona Kay (Time2Gossip); Helen Wright (passportstamps.uk); Jamie Craig (Wander In Two); Jonathon Clayton (Jonny Melon); Kirstie Pelling, (The Family Adventure Project); Meg Cale (Dopes on the Road/ Meg Cale): Mindi Hirsch and Daryl Hirsch (2foodtrippers); Pauline Newman (FirstClassLounge); Sarah Lee (LiveShareTravel); Suze Renner (LuxuryColumnist); Taylor Fuller (Travel Colorfully), and Yulia Safutdinova (misstourist).
sit-UP's high-profile conference speakers include Alex Hunter (Attaché) the former global Head of Online for Virgin Group; Emma Mead, VisitBritain; Philip Trippenbach, Edelman; David Reilly (Life of Reilly); Julie Falconer (A Lady in London); Karen Beddow (MiniTravellers); Paul Johnson (A Luxury Travel Blog), and Sian Lewis (The Girl Outdoors).
At the awards ceremony, five gongs are up for grabs by influencers, while three trophies will recognise stand-out influencer activity by travel and tourism brands. The awards for travel brands are Social Media Campaign of the Year, Influencer Marketing Campaign of the Year, and Travel Brand of the Year. The influencer trophies are Rising Star; Disruptor of the Year; Blog of the Year; Vlogger of the Year, and overall Travel Influencer of the Year.
sit-UP takes place the day after the QEII hosts IMM – also created by TravMedia UK - the market-leading event connecting journalists with the travel industry. Demand for IMM has been strong, with exhibition space almost sold out and over 250 media registered.
Said Henry Hemming of TravMedia UK, creators of the sit-UP concept: “To have over 200 influencers registered exceeds all expectations. As a consequence, we're seeing brands booking late, to ensure they get into conversations with all the top influencers at sit-UP's marketplace.”
