KE Adventure Travel

With the FCO announcing that most areas of Lebanon are now safe to travel in, KE Adventure Travel is launching a new 9-day walking and trekking holiday exploring parts of the Lebanon Mountain Trail. This tour is unique and KE Adventure Travel is the only UK tour operator to be offering a holiday featuring walking on the Lebanon Mountain Trail at this time.

This 470km path links an intricate web of ancient trails through the mountains, valleys and vineyards of central Lebanon. On KE's new adventure, Mountain Trails of Lebanon, 3 of the 5 days of walking are on the trail, combining Mediterranean landscapes, cedar forests and mountain peaks together with visits to religious sites and ancient ruins along the way. A detour is also taken to trek to the summit of Qurnat as Sawda' (3088m), the highest peak in whole of the Levant.

A feast for the senses, Lebanon offers a wealth of adventure and cultural experiences which this new tour takes full advantage of. Weaved into this excellent itinerary are highlights such as visiting the impressive Roman temple remains of Baalbek, one of the Middle East's finest preserved archaeological sites; waking through the Qadisha Valley; a tour of downtown Beirut and a visit to the ancient city of Byblos, one of the oldest continually inhabited sites on the planet.

Clients will stay in a variety of immersive accommodation, from sleeping at the Monastery of St Anthony to a night in a rural ecolodge. There will also be the chance to sample some of what Lebanon should be more renowned for: world-class wine and stunning cuisine.

A visit to the Chateau Ksara winery will provide ample opportunity to taste some of Lebanon's finest product, a craft the country has perfected over 9000 years of viticulture. With Mediterranean, Turkish and Arabic roots, Levantine cuisine is delectable melting pot; clients will be able to sample Lebanon's unique take on Middle Eastern dishes from the mountains to the Mediterranean coast.

Mountain Trails of Lebanon is a new addition to KE's highly successful range of product in the Middle East, accompanying its best-selling Jordan's Dana to Petra Trek. Product Manager Tom Sargeant says: “I'm thrilled to be launching this new walking holiday. Lebanon is blessed with a perfect mix of stunning trekking, ancient history and fabulous cuisine - it's the perfect destination for anyone looking to fully discover the magic of the Middle East.”

Prices start from £1075 land only and £1460 flight inclusive for this 9-day itinerary. British Airways currently offers mid-haul flights direct from London Heathrow to Beirut. To find out more go to www.keadventure.com/LMT
