Xi'an, China – November 29, 2018 – W Hotels Worldwide, part of Marriott International, Inc., has made its debut in Xi'an, the ancient eastern capital city in China. Hundreds of guests were invited to attend the debut of W Xi'an on 15th November to experience its stunning design theme. At the premiere, guests had the opportunity to experience first-hand the W brand's unique mix of design, fashion, music and fuel, including exclusive cocktails from other W hotels in China.

Premiere Party- Dazzle the Dynasty
Themed “Dazzle the Dynasty”, the premiere party marked the debut of W Xi'an with a spectacular event attended by hundreds of invited local and international guests. The theme was a nod to the splendors of the Tang Dynasty, which provided the inspiration for the celebrations and the overall design narrative of W Xi'an.
A specially-choreographed show transported guests through the “Time Labyrinth” back to the Tang Dynasty to showcase the glamour of the era. Commemorating the beauty of the Tang Dynasty, Tang maidens in traditional regalia, honored classic Chinese poets as they recited lines of poetry. Depicting the concubine Yang Guifei, a performer danced the traditional “Rainbow Skirt and the Feathered Coat Dance”. Breathtaking acrobats shimmy up freestanding poles and jump from pole to pole alongside contortionists, amusing the guests in attendance. The show came to a finale as the golden peach of Samarkand was presented to W Xi'an, an exquisite and exotic gift of honor, kindred to the legend originated from the seventh century when the kingdom of Samarkand sent tributes of rare fresh peaches in gold to the imperial Chinese court at Chang'an.

The celebrations continued into the night with inventive cuisine stations from WEI to WOOBAR, including an outdoor ice bar. A musical battle between classical Tang Dynasty music and modern electronica wowed guests late into the night with belly dancers, Tang maidens and male models dressed as Terracotta Warriors mingled with guests for unforgettable photo opportunities.
Commemorating the W Xi'an Premiere, three stylish signature cocktails were created to mark the memorable “Dazzle the Dynasty” debut of the hotel. The cocktails, named Gui Fei, Golden Peach and Drunken Recital, celebrate the past glories of Chang'an, and the present and future of W Xi'an. The three cocktails will be featured in property happenings in other W Hotels across China.
Time Labyrinth Design and Reimagined Indulgences
Stepping into a time labyrinth at W Xi'an, acclaimed interior design firm AB Concept has reinterpreted the rich historical, social and physical contexts of the city through the modern lens of the W brand across the 80,000 square meters hotel with 17-meter high Living Room as well as 383 supremely chic guestrooms. The vibrant range of rooms and suites rise up to the 20th floor, boasting spinning skyline views along with a rooftop platform for VIPs.
W Xi'an has four venues for socializing and dining. WOOBAR® laid-back hangout by day to a stylish lounge by night located in the lobby. WEI, a restaurant infusing local cuisine with international favorites, YEN, the hotel's signature restaurant, featuring 11 separate rooms facing Quijiang Pool with Tang Dynasty accents, is a showcase of Cantonese fine dining and innovative dim sum. FU serves reinterpreted yet authentic versions of the spicy classic Xi'an style hot pot.
