Hong Kong – Artemis Communications, a Hong Kong-based boutique magazine and custom content agency, has officially crafted its last issue of Jetsetter Magazine, the experiential luxury travel title it helps found with owners Channel 1 Hong Kong in 2011.
The Artemis editorial team has overseen 34 issues of the quarterly print title, and helped it grow into an independent authority on experiential travel, but all good things must come to an end and the Autumn 2018 issue was the last to be produced by the agency.
“Jetsetter has been a great project to work on,” says Artemis Communications' founder and managing director Nick Walton. “With the title, we brought back some of the glamour, inspiration and credibility of the travel magazines that helped define the jet set age, magazines that invigorated the senses and let imaginations roam far and wide.”
“By outsourcing editorial to Artemis, Channel 1 Hong Kong was able to focus on revenue, and we on telling the stories of places before they became commercially viable in the eyes of many other magazines, allowing the reader experience to always come first. However, the pressures of new titles in production by Artemis and the steady move towards custom print magazines, which Artemis specialises in, means we've had to bow out and hand the Jetsetter reins back to Channel 1 Hong Kong and their internal editorial team.”
To help with the transition, Artemis will continue to contribute selected content and photography to future Jetsetter issues, with Nick Walton retaining the title of Contributing Editor.
The latest issue of Jetsetter includes a visit to the soaring mountain ranges and deserted coastlines of Oman, an epic adventure to remote South Georgia Island, and a chance to step back in time to the Fiji that was at Yasawa Island.
