Hyatt Regency Sydney Welcomes Invictus Games Families to Sydney at the Sussex Street Party

As family and friends of Invictus Games competitors arrived in Sydney, Hyatt Regency Sydney today welcomed them with a traditional Aussie BBQ, serving up a sausage sizzle and party for over 600 guests.

Games participants and their loved ones visiting from 18 countries different countries enjoyed the warm Australian welcome, ahead of the Opening Ceremony for the Invictus Games Sydney this Saturday.

Patrick Kidd OBE, Invictus Games Sydney CEO addressed the crowd and thanked the Hyatt Regency Sydney for their support.

"Many thanks to our hotel partner Hyatt Regency Sydney for welcoming the friends and family of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 competitors today at the Sussex Street Party," Patrick Kidd OBE, Invictus Games Sydney 2018 CEO said.

"For many attending, this was their first taste of Australia ahead of the Games commencing this Saturday and the event really set the tone of what will be a wonderful week ahead supporting their loved ones."

Malcolm Zancanaro, General Manager Hyatt Regency Sydney said the entire hotel team were proud to show their support for such a worthy cause.

“We want to make Hyatt Regency Sydney a home away from home for the families and friends who are in Sydney to support their loved ones competing in The Games,” he said.

“Throughout the duration of The Games, visitors to the hotel can view the official Sydney 2018 medals in the hotel's lobby, provided by The Australian Mint and also pick up official Invictus Games Sydney 2018 merchandise at our pop up shop,” he added.

“Guests are also invited to leave a message of support at Hyatt Regency Sydney's 'Care Kiosk', an interactive display where guests can record a video message for their country, athletes and participants of the games,” Mr Zancanaro said.
