1. Explore post-Castro Cuba on a new small group tour

Travellers who missed the chance to visit Cuba in 2016 before the anticipated 'American influx' will be pleased to know they haven't yet missed their window – and that travelling now will come with the added interest of discovering the country at the start of a significant new era. Last month, Miguel Díaz-Canel was sworn in as Cuba's 19th President, following over 40 years of rule by the Castro family.

Cuba has always been in high demand for Western & Oriental, so the tour operator has now introduced a new, exclusive, small group tour with four scheduled departure dates between December 2018 and March 2019. The tour, which will accommodate a minimum of two and a maximum 12 guests on each departure, takes guests on a journey through Cuba's past and present, exploring the vibrant city of Havana and the rural farming villages and tobacco plantations of Vinales in the west. Along the journey, guests will wander through the cobbled streets of Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; hike through the Escambray Mountains at Parque Guanayara in Topes de Collantes Natural Park; take salsa dance classes; visit to the Mausoleum and Museum of Che Guevara and the Bay of Pigs Museum – and of course, take a tour of Ernest Hemingway's Havana in a classic American car. Cuba's Western Highlights Small Group Tour is a 12-day trip, costing from £3,599 per person based on two sharing. This price includes flights, airport transfers, transportation around Cuba, tours and excursions as outlined in the itinerary, the services of a professional English speaking guide and driver throughout, plus 11 nights' accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis.

2. See England's cricketers take on Sri Lanka this autumn

ITC Sports Travel has released three different spectator packages for England's cricket tour of Sri Lanka this autumn. The two teams will begin sizing each other up during five One Day Internationals in October, and packages to enjoy these matches are available from £2,995 per person. The One Day International Series trip takes place from 7th – 24th October 2018 and with a full programme of guided sightseeing planned around the five match days, this is a great option for fans who want to cheer on England but also spend a good amount of time exploring the host country. Itinerary highlights include tours of Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Polonnaruwa, the Temple of the Tooth, a tea plantation, as well as taking a game drive in Minneriya National Park and a scenic rail journey to the central highlands.

These ODIs will be followed by a Test Match Series in November, for which ITC Sports has two levels of tours hosted by cricketing legends. Cricketer tours, hosted by Gladstone Small, start from £5,645 per person, whilst Platinum tours, hosted by John Lever, start from £8,995 per person. Both of these tours will run from 3rd – 28th November 2018 and will offer sightseeing excursions as well as ITC Sports' sporting functions such as its signature celebrity-hosted State of Play evenings in Galle and Colombo. The Test Series packages cover fifteen days of cricketing action each – the key difference between the two is in the standard of hotels used. Guests on the Platinum tour will also have access to match-day hospitality.

3. Early booking offer: Save up to £400 per person at the new Seven Pines Resort, Ibiza

Seven Pines Resort Ibiza is one of this summer's hot new hotel openings in Europe. Chic, sleek and oh-so-luxurious, the clifftop resort on Ibiza's west coast offers all-suite accommodation, with one- and two-bedroom options, some of which have their own private pools.
