Some of Princess Grace's most spectacular diamonds can currently be admired in a breathtaking display of some of the world's most exquisite jewels at Cartier: the Exhibition, on show until 22 July 2018 at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.
The exhibition unveils several pieces from the Princess's beautiful jewellery collection marking some of the most important milestone events of her life with items showcased including the 10.48 carat diamond engagement ring of Grace Kelly's 1956 engagement with Prince Rainier III of Monaco, as well as several of her tiaras, necklaces, brooches and earrings.
Visit Monaco is thrilled to see the memory of Princess Grace honoured in what is one of the most significant collections of jewellery to visit Australia.
“This is fitting testament to the iconic style and timeless elegance of a Princess who continues to inspire the world” said Alison Roberts-Brown, Regional Director of Visit Monaco Australia and New Zealand.
“These are the most significant pieces to be seen in Australian since the 'Grace Kelly: Style Icon' exhibition came to Bendigo Art Gallery in 2012. Whilst only small section of this stunning exhibition the pieces are more than 'just' jewellery items, these pieces are reminders of important milestones in the Princess's life, allowing visitors to get a unique insight into her life as a royal, movie star, bride and, of course, a fashion icon” she added.
Cartier: The Exhibition showcases more than 300 spectacular items, with loans from royal families, celebrities and the astonishing Cartier Collection itself.
The event is on show until 22 July 2018 at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra. For more information on the exhibition and to buy tickets, visit: https://nga.gov.au/cartier/
