W TAIPEI PRESENTS
GREEN OASIS-SPRING ON SAND PROJECT
W Taipei has partnered with Spring Pool Glass and H&M on “Green Oasis ─ Spring on Sand”, a project showcasing a vision of stylish sustainability. The project includes an interactive green oasis, a sand like area made of recycled glass at WET poolside and an exhibition of H&M's Conscious Exclusive collection. Together, the three brands want to raise environmental consciousness and to make sustainable living cool.
“We are honored to announce our collaboration with Spring Pool Glass and H&M to activate sustainability and fulfill Corporate Social Responsibility.” W Taipei General Manager Harvey J. Thompson said. “W Taipei has long blended style with sustainability. For our building, we have used reclaimed wood for the 1F Wheels wall section of our building. In our rooms, guests can find a jewelry holder that is made of recycled plastic. At WOOBAR, our key art installation that features “Green Petal” is made of recycled paper. Through this partnership, we have created a recycled-glass-made Green Oasis, to approach a new angle of sustainability with W's design and fashion elements.”
W Taipei has collaborated with Taiwan's pioneer glass recycling company - Spring Pool Glass and utilize their recycled glass sands to create Green Oasis at 10F WET poolside. With special processing, the glass sands are smooth and fine; guests are encouraged to enter the oasis with bare foot for sensory experience. To involve more in this eco-friendly project, we will deliver used glass bottles collected within this period at WOOBAR to Spring Pool Glass, to make all these waste valuable again.
Furthermore, H&M will showcase their 2018 Conscious Exclusive collection at the WET Bar on April 18th. The whole collection is made with more sustainable materials, and for the first time, recycled silver and ECONYL®, a 100% regenerated nylon fibre from fishnets and other nylon waste, are introduced this year. In celebration of the seventh edition, 5 archived Conscious Exclusive pieces will also be displayed at the 10F lobby from April 18th to May 13th.
To add more fun to this project, a series of Green Oasis DJ events will be launched at WOOBAR. Guests may indulge themselves in our “Green Oasis” themed cocktail, mocktail, light dishes, and enjoy the eco-chic pool side.
