Jena Gardner, Founder and CEO of JG Worldwide, Announces Acquisition of Creative Agency MERCURYcsc

JG Black Book

Jena Gardner, President and CEO of JG Worldwide, announces the purchase of MERCURYcsc – a leading creative, advertising and digital agency.

With this acquisition JG Worldwide expands its portfolio of services to now include full brand development, content creation, digital and social campaigns, advertising and media planning. This perfectly complements the robust trade representation, public relations, marketing and strategic consulting services that the company provides through its subsidiary brands of JG Black Book and W!T.

Founded in 1998 by Jeff Welch, MERCURYcsc is headquartered in Bozeman, Montana and has grown over the years into a leading integrated communications agency that connects brands to people who value travel, outdoors and a sense of place. The award-winning agency recently received the HSMAI Silver Award and an Effie Award for their campaigns with the Montana Office of Tourism. MERCURYcsc also counts Orvis, First Interstate Bank, ExOfficio, The University of Montana, The Wilderness Society and Vasque among the many clients they've served.

Speaking on the acquisition Ms. Gardner says, “I've long admired the creativity and campaigns spearheaded by MERCURYcsc. Our focus as an organization has always been on giving voice to the world's top travel experiences. We recognize that in an increasingly competitive environment, brands need the tools to be more dynamic than ever to truly stand out. They need an honest and compelling story, rich and engaging content and a broad network of advocates to make an impact within the industry. Today marks a new chapter for us as we strengthen our roster of services and have the capabilities to enter new sectors.”

Ms. Gardner turned her lifelong passion for travel into a thriving enterprise, founding JG Black Book in 2002. Since then, she has built it into a highly successful consulting firm that provides expert marketing, public relations and sales services to the world's finest travel providers.

With this recent acquisition, Ms. Gardner aims to serve as a one-stop communications agency for brands who are looking for an integrated approach to increase their share of voice in the adventure, travel and lifestyle marketplace.

Speaking on the news, Jeff Welch, Founder of MERCURYcsc comments, "We're very excited about this acquisition. Jena's strengths in earned media and strong relationships with the travel trade coupled with Mercury's strengths in paid and owned media will provide some real synergies across the board."

JG Worldwide is headquartered in New York City and has offices in London, São Paulo, Buenos Aires and, with this acquisition, Bozeman, MT. The following integrated capabilities are now being offered within all represented markets (North America, South America and the United Kingdom):

  • Brand Strategy & Planning
