From 1 October to 11 November, Guernsey celebrates the 20th anniversary of its annual Tennerfest, which sees over 150 restaurants across the Channel Islands offering three course menus from just £10.

Over six weeks, restaurants all over Guernsey are featuring special menus that represent savings of almost 50% on normal prices. Starting with 25 menus for £10 up to gourmet dining at just £21, Tennerfest is the chance for foodies to taste their way around Guernsey, as well as the island of Sark, for less, including fresh seafood and homegrown produce, or local specialities of 'Bean Jar' (a one pot meal cooked overnight and made of beans, pork belly and onion) and artisan cheeses.

Initially launched as a way of attracting customers into island restaurants in quieter months, Tennerfest is now one of Guernsey's most popular foodie events with an estimated five million Tennerfest meals consumed since the event's inception. Figures show that more than 300,000 covers are served at each Tennerfest and over 30% of menus still stick to the original promise of the festival offering something for £10 - which, in this day and age, offers fantastic value for money.

For example, at La Perla Restaurant on the harbour front in St Peter Port, for £10 diners can enjoy a starter of Parma ham and fig platter, fillet of seabass served with chive mashed potato and avocado vinaigrette for main, and apple pie and ice cream for desert. The Kiln in the northern parish of Vale is offering its first ever Tennerfest menu with a three-course fixed price menu also from £10 including shellfish bisque with local Chancre crab as a starter, fillet of local bream en papillote under the mains and pear tarte tatin for desert. On neighbouring island of Sark, Stocks Hotel is offering three courses for £20, featuring fresh vegetables from Stocks' award winning gardens, Guernsey scallops, Sark lamb, and Stocks' garden apple tart with Sark crème Chantilly.

There are also fixed price menus at £12.50, £15, £17.50 and £20, and three Guernsey restaurants also feature menus under the Tennerfest 'Gourmet' price band, which highlights quality as well as value for money. These include a six-course set menu at Bella Luce Hotel at £35, three courses at acclaimed La Reunion for £21, and three courses at beachside restaurant Roc Salt for £29.95 plus a glass of prosecco to start.

All participating restaurants and menus are listed on the Tennerfest website: www.tennerfest.com
