Australian Traveller's Lost Money Returned by Thai Hotel Employees

Tourism Authority of Thailand

An Australian traveller inadvertently left behind a large sum of money in his Bangkok hotel room after checking out, but the honest hotel employees tracked him down to return it.

The forgotten money, an estimated AU $20,000 cash as well as some 500,000 Thai Baht, was found by two hotel employees at the Armoni Hotel By Andacura, Sukhumvit 11 Bangkok.

The employees, guided by hotel management, reported the find to Thai police, who managed to track down the owner, a Mr Richard Mervin Logan Chirnside. A very appreciative Mr Chirnside has praised the honesty of the two hotel workers and promised to share his experience with everyone he knew upon his return to Australia.
