Luxury Family Holidays……with the Dog in Tow!

Luxury Family Hotels

They say never work with children or animals but at Luxury Family Hotels we do both!

Within the Luxury Family Hotel group, not only does each hotel offer everything a family needs including baby equipment, toys, games, free Ofsted-registered childcare, free baby listening service, a swimming pool, spa and artisan drinks …they roll out the red carpet for four-legged guests too.

Moonfleet Manor, Dorset

Moonfleet Manor is a handsome Georgian manor house magnificently situated overlooking Chesil Beach and Fleet Lagoon near Weymouth in Dorset. This is the landscape that Thomas Hardy used as a backdrop for his tales of love and tragedy and the area seen in the 2015 film Far From The Madding Crowd and is the ideal place for some fresh air fun with dogs.

At Moonfleet guests will find a doggy treat in the room on arrival along with a welcome letter from the hotel dog, Snoopy (above), alongside the most important information - details of all the local dog walks.

New Park Manor, New Forest

Set in the heart of the New Forest, with wonderful views over the surrounding woodland and heathland, New Park Manor was once the favourite hunting lodge of King Charles II and is now part of the Luxury Family Hotel collection. The resident pooch Forest (above) is “Director of Pet Relations” and is always on hand to give a warm welcome to the four-legged guests.

On arrival, all dogs receive a welcome letter and a treat as well as information about where they can go for walks plus advice about the resident forest wildlife. A bed and bowl are placed in the bedrooms and they also get a welcome gift (usually a toy).

In addition, the hotel offers a free doggy sitting service at reception for anyone wanting to dine in the main restaurant (or owners can dine with their dogs in the lounges), there are maps with great walking routes in the entrance hall along with doggy towels to clean muddy paws when they get back plus there's a jar of dog treats and poo bags by the front door as well as bowls of water throughout the hotel and grounds.

Woolley Grange Hotel, Bradford on Avon

A Woolley Grange, four-legged friends receive a welcome pack in the room that comprises a dog bed, towel, bowls, couple of biscuits, poo bags, plus a welcome note from Rex (the hotel dog, pictured above) complete with house rules!

There is a hamper of toys by the front door and dog bowls filed with water can be found around the house. The hotel grounds provide an exercise area, a bin for dog poo bags and a dog shower complete with washing station with hose, shampoo and towels.

The hotel even has spare leads and subject to prior notification, staff can walk your dog if you are not able to and staff are only too happy to recommend some of the great country walking routes.

They offer a complimentary dog-listening service, so guests can dine in the restaurant without worrying about the dog in the room, there is also an in-house grooming service as well as access to a local vet in case of emergencies

This month, a fantastic new shop/ cafe/ dog parlour called the DOGHOUSE opened in Bradford on Avon. Anyone who stays at Woolley with a dog also gets a doggy hamper from the DOGHOUSE and if they take the card that's in the hamper to the shop they get a free bag of doggy treats with every purchase! It is a must for dog lovers...they even sell doggy chinos and doggy ice-cream!!

Adrian Burley of Luxury Family Hotels says: “Holiday planning can be quite challenging at the best of time and if you have to sort out arrangements for someone to look after your dog it can be an extra hassle plus kennel fees can mean the costs can go up dramatically.

“One of the best things about holidaying in the UK with Luxury Family Hotels is that your dogs are welcome. All you need to do is pack your pet, jump in the car and drive. And you don't even have to travel far for a change of scenery with wonderful long beaches, amazing English countryside and  countless trails with fabulous views and interesting haunts for furry friends and their owners to discover.”
