Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Simon Latchford said with one of Australia's Top 10 beaches on TripAdvisor as the playground, Mooloolaba is brimming with incredible food experiences, immersive encounters and a hub for iconic events.
“As an extension of our Come to Life campaign launched earlier in the year, this is an enticing compilation of hero Mooloolaba 'must-dos' that tell a powerful story and will resonate with potential visitors to the Sunshine Coast. A suite of images representing our brand pillars has also been produced to accompany the video content.
“Following the success of last year, the first half of the 2017 has continued to be busy for the Sunshine Coast as we experience steady increases in domestic and international visitors. These results would not be possible without the support of our tourism operators and the power of groups working together.
“This initiative is another example of our organisation promoting the Sunshine Coast by shining the spotlight on a star destination and working in collaboration with Mooloolaba Business and Tourism and Sunshine Coast Council. We will continue to deliver more of these exciting outcomes by working closely with key destinations across the Coast to promote the wider region,” said Simon.
Division 4 Councillor John Connolly said the new #cometolifemooloolaba television campaign airing over the coming months was a joint initiative of Mooloolaba Business and Tourism and Visit Sunshine Coast, supported by council.
“This campaign will not only remind residents that Mooloolaba is one of the Coast's most iconic locations, it will also promote it to those people who live in regional Queensland,” Cr Connolly said.
“Mooloolaba Beach makes the top 10 list on TripAdvisor's best beaches in Australia with its sapphire coloured waters and white sand – making it an excellent holiday haven.
“Besides our pristine beaches, there are also many attractions and excellent restaurants to explore – there is literally something for everyone!”
Mooloolaba Business and Tourism Executive and owner of Lot 104, Bruce Ferguson said it was important to remain competitive with other holiday destinations.
“Mooloolaba Business and Tourism (MB&T) hope this promotion attracts attention back to the natural wonders and activities that a Mooloolaba holiday has to offer.
“Coupled with this we have planned and created a voucher website for local businesses to make offers to visitors via a download to mobile phones. There will be ongoing offers throughout the television campaign. MB&T are also instigating the start of twilight markets along the Esplanade on a Friday night.
“MB&T appreciate the support to achieve this advertising campaign for Mooloolaba and we look forward to the success of this combined effort,” added Mr Ferguson.
The television commercial accurately reflects the five Visit Sunshine Coast brand pillars, leveraging a variety of iconic visitor experiences:
Contemporary beach culture - family fun on the spectacular shores of Mooloolaba Beach
Wonders of nature - Australia's first humpback whale swim and Point Cartwright
Innovative food and produce - trawler to plate with Mooloolaba Prawns to dining at Spice Bar (one of Australia's Top 10 TripAdvisor restaurants) and the additional sidewalk treasures of Mooloolaba Esplanade
