
Seasonal offering marks first nonstop service from Portland to UK
PORTLAND, Ore.—Sept. 26, 2016—Business and leisure travelers will soon be able to enjoy direct seasonal service between Portland International Airport and London's Heathrow Airport. From May 26 to Oct. 29, 2017, Delta Air Lines will offer nonstop PDX-LHR flights.
“We are pleased with Delta's recognition of the growing importance of the Portland market,” said Todd Davidson, CEO of the Oregon Tourism Commission, dba Travel Oregon. “This route will be Portland's first nonstop service to the U.K., and we hope many U.K. residents will take advantage of this convenient option to visit the great state of Oregon. PDX offers direct flights to more than 60 domestic destinations, making it easy for international travelers to combine a trip to Oregon with visits to other U.S. locations as well.”
The PDX-LHR flights are scheduled to operate four days per week using a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. Flight DL36 will depart Portland at 5 p.m. and arrive at Heathrow at 11:05 a.m. the following day, and Flight DL37 will depart Heathrow at 12:30 p.m. and arrive in Portland at 3:15 p.m.
London is Portland's 11th international gateway. PDX also offers international flights to Amsterdam;
Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver, Canada; Frankfurt, Germany; Guadalajara, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; Keflavik, Iceland; and Tokyo.
