On Saturday 6th May 2017 Paresa Resort (www.paresaresorts.com ), the luxurious Thai hideaway in the Kamala hills of Phuket is hosting UK TV celebrity chef, Theo Michaels in a pop up eight-course food and wine dinner alongside Paresa's Michelin experienced Executive Chef Jordi Valles Claverol.
The event is part of an exciting two-centre Thailand restaurant roadshow which will also see Theo joining Gaetano Palumbo, Executive Chef at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok for two gastronomic evenings in the chic gastro lounge, BarSu on 27th April and in the Italian restaurant, Rossini's on 28th April.
Theo Michaels first came to prominence on BBC MasterChef 2014, championing modern Greek cooking. Following his success on the programme the affable chef has become a regular guest chef on ITV's This Morning with further appearances on BBC Breakfast, Sky TV and The Food Network with Lisa Faulkner and Matt Tebbut. He also runs a popup restaurant seating around 40 people, serving an eight-course tasting menu and hosts private dining parties. His first cook book was launched late summer 2016.
Paresa Resort has a long tradition of hosting renowned guest chefs from around the world and the event will see Theo and Chef Jordi joining forces to cooking for 30-diners in Recipe, the resort's open kitchen dining venue, creating a gastronomic tasting menu mixing delicacies from Theo's Cypriot heritage with Jordi's Spanish style cuisine, accompanied by a choice of fine wines.
Featured dishes included an amuse bouche of Greek Salad tubes and Escabeche Mussels, followed by a starter of Seared Goats Cheese , Honey Truffle Vinaigrette, Roasted Vegetables and Gazpacho Mary, Fine de Claire, Blue Crab, Salmon roe. The next course is Compressed Pork Belly, Fava, Scallop and Ouzo & Mint Granita. The Meat Entrée is Oxtail, Foie gras & Porcini Bombon, Pumpkin textures , Beef jus and Kleftiko Rolled Midi Pyrenees Lamb, Tzatziki, Pomegranate Tabouleh, Lamb Jus. The dessert will feature Spanish “Torrija” & Almonds “Crema Catalana” with rum.
Wines for the dinner will be paired with each course by Paresa's General Manager and wine expert, Dawid Koegelenberg. Paresa has established a deserved reputation for serving some of the finest cuisine on the island.
Theo says, “I am very excited to be cooking at Paresa Resort and the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit and melding my Greek style of cooking with Chef Jordi and Chef Gaetano, both of whom have successfully fused their Mediterranean menus to offer exceptional cuisine with a Thai twist. I know that Greek cuisine is not so well known in Thailand and I'm looking forward to creating some of my signature dishes”.

Jordi Valles Claverol is originally from Barcelona, where he grew up surrounded by an extended family of restauranteurs and spent much of his early career honing his craft in some of the best kitchens in Paris and two of Barcelona's most glittering establishments, the two Michelin Star Restaurant 'Neichel' followed by the illustrious three Michelin Star Restaurant 'El Racó de Can Fabes'. Leaving Europe for China, Jordi initially worked at 'Mare Nostrum Restaurant', the best Spanish restaurant in Beijing, and heading up 'Agua', a Spanish restaurant in the Chinese Capital, before heading to the boutique resort of Paresa on Phuket's Millionaire's Mile.

Gaetano Palumbo brings 20 years of culinary experience. Prior to joining the renowned hotel in November 2016, he was the Executive Chef at The St Regis Macao. Chef Gaetano is no stranger to Thailand or Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. In 2006, he was the Italian Chef de Cuisine at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit's award-winning restaurant, Rossini's, before moving on to Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers Bangkok as Executive Sous Chef.
Highlights of the gifted chef's culinary career include working as a consultant chef to Michelin starred Chef Alfredo Russo during the opening of Café Turino in Mexico City. He has also worked alongside three Michelin starred Chef Fulvio Angelini at La Zagara restaurant in Sicily, where he was born and has received qualifications as a Master Italian Chef from the Accademia Barilla.
