Castle House is Hereford's boutique city hotel, just yards from the fabulous Cathedral which houses the earliest map of the world, the Mappa Mundi. The hotel is the perfect place to base yourself if visiting this beautiful, unspoiled part of the country. There is plenty to do and see in Herefordshire and surrounding counties and the hotel has a good guide of local walks and places of interest to visit.
The hotel publishes an events guide for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter. A taste of some of the events coming up includes a Pre-Cheltenham evening with Peter Scudamore MBE and panel, the Rory Bremner show at the local Courtyard Theatre, a Private Visit to Sir Roy Strong's Laskett Gardens, an evening with the British explorer and adventurer Tim Oakley, who recently retraced Roald Amundesen's 1905 dogsled journey from Hershel Island to Eagle Alaska. A visit to the hotel owner's nearby Ballingham Hall, a Grade II listed 18th century manor house with beautiful gardens as well as a fully working farm that provides much of the local produce to the hotel and The Joy and Pleasure of Cider and Food with Herefordshire's Cider Ambassador, Tom Oliver.
