French accommodation expert, Madame Vacances, is making holiday history this month as it returns to its brand roots.

In a move designed to make planning even simpler for travellers, the independently-owned holiday company's ski and summer breaks will now be divided into two distinct regions for the UK market.

Ski France (www.skifrance.co.uk) a well-known ski specialist, was the historic brand belonging to Madame Vacances, and will now be the dedicated brand in the UK, concentrating on snow escapes.

From characterful chalets to well-appointed hotels, Ski France offers memorable holidays across 40 mountain properties with flexible arrival days, and its combination of big-name resorts and lesser-known ski areas ensures there's something for everyone.

Meanwhile, British holidaymakers looking to spend their summer in cottages and self-catered apartments along the Mediterranean and Atlantic coastline, or enjoy a private villa with a refreshing pool in an idyllic rural location, can now rely on Summer France (www.summerfrance.co.uk) for inspiration.

Seaside properties were originally introduced to the Madame Vacances group in 1996, when the company added the Aquitaine resort of Moliets to its portfolio. Over the last 20 years, the original beach destination has proved so popular with holidaymakers that the operator now offers six upscale villa and apartment complexes in the area.
