InterContinental Hong Kong's Lobby Lounge, with its impressive wall of windows, showcases a mesmerising panorama of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island. It is home to one of the world's most magnificent views. Now it is also destination for outstanding live entertainment – with two new showcased performers.
Every evening (except Thursday): 9:00pm – 12:45am (through February 28, 2017) enjoy the dynamic vocal styling of American singer Amanda Avila, whose energised performances have wowed audiences on American Idol and in a variety of Las Vegas shows and touring productions globally.
Every Thursday from 9:00pm – 11:45pm, Jennifer Palor, one of Asia's leading contemporary jazz figures, blends refreshing, unconventional jazz sensibilities with a modern urban feel, to create her own distinctive sound.
Singing Sensation Amanda Avila
Amanda Avila was a born performer. Following her first professional job at the age of seven, she appeared in numerous commercials, stage and major sporting performances and even a national presidential campaign event. She graduated from the prestigious Los Angeles High School for the Arts. Immediately after graduation she was cast in the national tour of the musical “Selena Forever” appearing all over the southern United States, Miami, and Mexico, including a guest performance on the Latin television show Cristina. One day she was presented with the exciting opportunity to be a backup singer for the Motown legend Smokey Robinson, whom she joined on tour for two years. Later she moved to Las Vegas to be in the original cast of the Sirens of TI. Working under the direction of famed entertainment veteran Kenny Ortega, Amanda was cast in the role of “Harmonia”. While in Vegas, she auditioned for the FOX television show, American Idol, and succeeded as one of the final 8 female contestants. From her appearances on American Idol, Amanda worked as an entertainment correspondent for E news and Fox's Realty Remix. In 2008 she began 4 years of singing her way around the world with the Royal Caribbean International Singers & Dancers.
In 2012 she moved back to Las Vegas and has been seen in Dancing Queen and Broadway Celebration at the New York New York Resort and Casino, Terry Bradshaw's show “America's Favorite Dumb Blonde - A Life in 4 Quarters”, and in the hit show Fantasy at the Luxor Resort and Casino.
During her performances in InterContinental Hong Kong's Lobby Lounge (9:00pm – 12:45am, nightly except on Thursday), she is performing a range of contemporary and classic pop music.
Asian's Leading Jazz Diva Jennifer Palor
Jennifer Palor, one of Asia's leading contemporary jazz figures, blends refreshing, unconventional jazz sensibilities with a modern urban feel, to create her own distinctive sound. She performs cool jazz with a twist of soul every Thursday (9:00pm – 11:45pm) in the Lobby Lounge.
Jennifer has taken Hong Kong and Asia by storm over the past several years with her exciting voice and incredible live show performances. She is recognised today as one of Asia's leading contemporary jazz figures. Truly a world class talent, she's performed in prestigious clubs and festivals, and is a favorite on the jazz circuit across the continent with a fan base that spans the globe. Her impressive style and distinctive sound blends refreshing, unconventional jazz sensibilities mixed with a modern urban feel.
Jennifer has also earned a reputation as one of the most in-demand live and recording vocalists in the region. She is the voice of many commercial ads in HK. The prestigious music industry magazine JAZZIZ in the USA has called “...The most exciting jazz vocalist in Asia".
Jennifer released her debut album entitled "Jenerations" to widespread critical acclaim in 2009. She is also the voice of the incredible 22-piece ensemble group called Shaolin Fez, who released its first album “Calm Your Storm” in 2012. Amongst her live and recording projects, Jennifer is currently busy working on her own compositions.

Formed in 1998. "Bloodest Saxophone" is a Japanese Jump /Jazz band performing the greatest vintage sounds. The Tokyo based band has released ten jazz albums since 2003, becoming well-known for its live performances and albums featuring Big Jay McNeely or Jewel Brown. The group's performances throughout Japan have included the Fuji Rock Festival 2015, one of the biggest music events in Japan.
