11th August 2016: The ninth Bournemouth Air Festival (18th – 21st August) is ready to land and there is nowhere else in the country you can visit for four days of fantastic entertainment set against an award-winning backdrop. More than just an air show, there's chart-topping live music from the Kaiser Chiefs and Travis, breath-taking fireworks and immense support from the armed forces alongside adrenaline pumping air displays demonstrating incredible feats of aircraft skill.

This year there are more than 15 display teams and 40 aircraft supported by more than 55 ground crew! This includes the world-famous Red Arrows, The Blades Super Aerobatics and RAF Typhoon alongside this year's new additions the Swiss Super Puma Display Team, Mitchell B-25, StrikeMaster, Great War Display Team and Otto the helicopter.

Swiss Air Force Super Puma Display Pilot Captain Matthieu Ghiringhelli said; “On behalf of the Swiss Air Force I am delighted we will be participating at this summer's Bournemouth Air Festival - we have heard great things about the event on the air show circuit. I hope visitors will enjoy watching the incredible agility demonstrated by the Super Puma Display Team - see you soon!”

Last seen in 2013, the Breitling Wingwalkers are returning and the ever-popular Tigers Parachute Team will make daily jumps from an amazing 6,000 feet freefalling at an incredible 120mph!! Not forgetting the iconic SallyB, Battle of Britain memorial Flight, Twister Duo and The Blades – this year sees top female pilot Kirsty Murphy join the team as Blade3.

Night Air entertainment is headline by The Kaiser Chiefs and Travis on Friday with 'Sunsets on the Beach' headlined by Example and DJ Wire on Saturday. Complemented with glittering dusk displays from The Red Devils, Aerosparx and Otto with Team Fireflies.

Supported by The Royal Navy, The Army and of course The Royal Air Force, an anticipated 1 million people are set to enjoy another festival of exhilarating aeronautical excitement, daring dusk displays and a huge variety of musical entertainment. The 2016 Bournemouth Air Festival is certainly set to be the event of the summer!
