27 July 2016 – Inspired to take to two wheels by Chris Froome's victory in the Tour de France, and the Prudential RideLondon event this weekend? Head to the Surrey Hills - where champion Froome will participate in RideLondon-Surrey Classic on Sunday 31 July - and enjoy a 'Velo Weekend' cycling break at Foxhills Club & Resort.
Froome, cycling icon Sir Bradley Wiggins and Team GB have stayed at family-run Foxhills to train in the surrounding Surrey hills and countryside. Foxhills is 16 miles from Leith Hill and 21 miles from Box Hill, two of the most challenging climbs that participants in RideLondon-Surrey Classic 100 will encounter.
The weekend break includes overnight accommodation with access to the award-winning healthspa and par-three nine hole Manor golf course; a nutritious pre-ride breakfast as recommended by British Cycling's head nutritionist; bike store; a cycling goodie bag and suggested cycling routes to try during your stay.
It costs from £110 per person per night, based on two people sharing a standard double or twin room*. Upgrades are available to the rooms where Team GB's road race cycling team, including Chris Froome and Sir Bradley Wiggins, stayed during the London 2012 Olympics.
