Your Nice Apartment, the boutique holiday accommodation specialists ranked 5* Excellent by TripAdvisor, have just launched Cyprus as a new destination. The launch not only coincides with the largest number of UK visitors to the Mediterranean island ever (a 19% increase in UK visitors May 2016 year on year; total visitor numbers during that month reached 364,943 according to Cystat, the country's statistical service) but also the introduction of new UK flights by budget airline Cobalt Air, (7th July).
“For years, the accommodation options in Cyprus were limited,” says Simon Walker, Your Nice Apartment co-founder. “You either travelled there for a traditional fly and flop in large, often dated high rise apartments in coastal resorts or you headed for the foothills and interior, where accommodation often resembled a holiday home your Grandma had styled.
“Fifteen years since the launch of 'Agri-tourism', though, the accommodation offering has matured,” says Simon.
“What we wanted to do was curate a property collection which captured the zeitgeist, offering stunning beach front apartments - a slice of California cool - but also work with a new wave of holiday home owners in traditional villages, those who have understood the need to transform historic homes into seriously stylish holiday retreats to attract the UK holiday market. “
Given that the new collection has just launched, there is still good availability for summer bookings, although YNA expect a rise in tourists during September and October, where Cyprus is perennially touted as the best place in the Mediterranean and Europe to catch late summer sun.
“Nowhere in the Med is warmer or more reliably sunny than Cyprus in September and October,” says Simon, “with nine hours of sunshine a day and temperatures of up to 28C. The sea, having been warmed by the searing heat during July and August is like a warm bath.”
Properties range from Delphinium a £32 per night apartment in Larnaca sleeping 4, to the The Beach House, Konnos Bay, Protaras sleeping 6 from £142 a night.
The holiday lettings agency, which also offers boutique properties in Nice and the French Riviera, and Dingle, Ireland, will also be launching a new range of add-ons, from walking and cycling tours, to wine tours (ideal for the grape harvest in September / October) and more.
