Northern Corsica Press Trip: 1 Place Left

Visit Corsica

Corsica still remains a part of France that is yet to be be truly discovered by the Brits and we have one place left on a press trip for 3 media with national magazine or newspaper commissions.

The itinerary is centered around the citadel of Calvi and Balagne, the valley of Ostricioni, Bastia and Ile Rousse (see attached). With time to wonder in this beautiful festive citadel, allegedly birthplace of Christopher Columbus and a magnet for the yacht-owning super-rich, who sail from Nice or Cannes, take in the lush Balagne often called the "garden of Corsica" and still known as "Saint Balagen" because of the large number of religions building to visit, along with unspoiled mountain villages and taste the region's superb wine, cheese, olive oil and wild boar sausage.

The press trip is co-hosted by the ATC (Agence du Tourisme de la Corse) www.visit-corsica.com and Corsican Places, www.corsica.co.uk – an independent and specialist UK tour operator with 29 years' experience in Corsica offering an extensive range of accommodation throughout the island with self-catering and hotel based holidays and a wide range of flights. As a passionate specialist the company prides itself on providing a first class holiday experience through its high level and personal customer service, flexibility and attention to detail. The company's experienced resort team have immense local knowledge as well as its dedicated UK staff who are frequent visitors.

Press trip participants will be staying at Le Home – Le Home comprises a group of one bedroom apartments which are nestled in luxuriant gardens in the heart of Calvi with a number of bars, restaurants, shops along with a sandy beach, just a stroll away. Much care and attention has been put into the properties and surrounding landscaped grounds, making them a real little oasis in the middle of town. Calvi's social life focuses on the many restaurants and cafés of the quai landry which is a large seafront walkway that links the marina and port. A walk up through the narrow passageways off quai landry leads to the Ste-Marie-Majeure, built in 1774 and from this a flight of stairs heads up to the modern high street which is the point of entry to the town's wonderful Citadel.
