Gareth Ward will celebrate three years as head chef at Ynyshir Hall in July this year. In that time he has truly elevated the hotel, area and Wales to new culinary heights and the awards speak for themselves. A Michelin Star in under a year, retained in the second year. 4 AA Rosettes soon followed, making Ynyshir Hall the only place in Wales to hold this award. Other notable achievements included awards and top listings from Visit Wales and The Good Food Guide with Gareth being the recipient of the guides 'Chef to Watch' award.

16th-century Ynyshir Hall is home to just 10 bedrooms and is set amid 14 acres of gorgeous gardens. Each of the bedrooms is named after a different artist, with huge beds, television, radio and Wi-Fi. All have been individually designed. The views are all exceptional. Desolate moorlands rise to the Cambrian Mountains which surround Ynyshir Hall. Some of Britain's finest beaches can also be found here including Ynyslas, a ten minute drive from Ynyshir Hall.

Gareth Ward was chosen by the late Joan Reen who sadly died earlier this year. Together their vision really made Wales a foodie destination and this continues today. Visitors to Ynyshir Hall can enjoy award-winning tasting menus that celebrate the local produce. Joan and husband Rob, together raised Ynyshir Hall's foodie profile over almost 30 years employing award-winning chefs who understood the hotel. Ynyshir Hall went on to appear in The Good Food Guide for 26 years. The restaurant at Ynyshir Hall for the first time, has been renamed to 'Gareth Ward at Ynyshir Hall'.

Gareth's dinner menus include two extended tasting menus, each around 11 courses (£89.00) and a daily changing 5 courses for residents only (£55.00).  These are served in the 25-cover restaurant. A wine pairing option is available for all menus. Lunch is also served at Ynyshir Hall and a 5 course (£29.00) menu is available. Afternoon tea can be taken in the lounge, bar or al-fresco in the gardens.

Last year Gareth added a Chef's Table in the kitchen, a new front row seat dining experience. The 'Chef's Table Surprise Menu' comprising 16+ courses (£120.00) as selected by Gareth Ward and the kitchen team is available for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is truly theatrical and diners at the Chef's Table see a Michelin Starred chef in full action with his team.
