La Manga Club's relationship with FC Barcelona continues to flourish after revealing that the global soccer giants will stage its popular Official Barcelona Junior Football Camp at Spain's flagship resort for the third year running this summer.
With five-time World Footballer of the Year Lionel Messi leading the way, the European and Spanish champions continue to set the benchmark in club football, and youngsters can discover what it takes to be the best at the camp, which takes place at La Manga Club from July 25-29.
With the side's style of quick passing and free-flowing attacking football, Barcelona provide the ideal role model to learn from, and children can train using the same methods as its stars, as well as learning the club's core values including leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork and self-control.
Open to girls and boys between the ages of six and 17, the highly sought-after camp includes five hours' daily training from Barcelona's official coaches, recreational activities and lunch.
In addition, those taking part will also receive a diploma for their attendance and two training kits, plus the chance to win signed shirts from the club's star-studded first team and the possibility for the best player during the week to train with the FCBESCOLA, the FC Barcelona Football School.
Prices start at €475 (approx £380) per person for a week-long training programme, while children can attend the football camp on an individual basis including a week's full board accommodation in the resort's four-star Las Lomas Village for €950 (approx £760) per person.
With extensive facilities including eight FIFA-approved grass pitches, La Manga Club has made a name for itself as a first-choice destination for warm-weather football training breaks, with the game's biggest names including FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and, most recently, Newcastle United, among the sides to have stayed at the resort.
Set in 1,400 acres, the award-winning venue is also the official overseas training base of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and boasts unrivalled facilities as a sports and leisure destination including three 18-hole golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre and a 2,000sqm spa and fitness centre. It also offers the choice of a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses and more than 20 bars and restaurants.
