The University of JOklahoma has today announced the discovery of a new constellation in the stars. Named the Tucan, the constellation bears a strong resemblance to the South American bird of the same name.
Tucan Travel are pleased to announce that reports of spotting the Tucan have already started flying in from their group tours around the world. The Tucan was spotted by keen bird-watcher and avid star-gazer Mr Joe Kerr as he camped in the Masai Mara on an African safari tour, and by Miss April First in the Amazon Jungle, in Peru.
Matt Gannan, CEO of Tucan Travel is quoted, “Many of our clients are keen astronomers so it is no surprise that we are hearing so many reports of the constellation sighting by our travellers around the world. I am already making tentative plans to travel to a star-spotting destination next April 1st to catch a glimpse of the Tucan myself.”
Along with the other first 12 clients who had contacted Tucan Travel about the new formation of stars, Mr Kerr and Miss First have received a constellation prize from Tucan Travel in the form of a voucher towards another tour.
Some of the best places for star-gazing are away from the pollution of big cities, and astronomers have confirmed that the Tucan can be viewed from a number of different regions if the sky is clear enough. These include the Tatacoa Desert in Colombia, the Okavango Delta in Botswana and Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia.
For starry-eyed passengers, Tucan Travel has a selection of tours that offer prime “Tucan” spotting opportunities.
