The Venetian Macao

The Venetian® Macao will welcome Chinese New Year with a series of festivities and special events at the outdoor lagoon area of The Venetian Macao from Feb. 2 – 22, 2016 to usher in the Year of the Monkey. “Seasons of Prosperity” will feature a fantastic mix of traditional Chinese and contemporary events that will ensure families enjoy a truly unforgettable Chinese New Year.

The admission-free “Seasons of Prosperity” will offer a host of spectacular festivities, including beautiful hand-decorated monkey sculptures, the “Seasons of Prosperity” 3-D light and sound spectacular, a Chinese New Year-themed mini model exhibition showcasing traditional festive activities and several fabulous 3-D illusion paintings that offer the chance to take memorable photographs.

“Creative Creatures – Art and the Chinese Zodiac” also returns in 2016 in support of local art project “Anno Simius”. A total of 25 local artists have each hand-decorated fibreglass monkeys with their own inimitable style. The project will offer visitors the chance to see a total of 25 monkey sculptures, 13 of which will be at the outdoor lagoon area at The Venetian Macao from Feb. 3 – 22, while the other 12 will be on display at Sands Macao and other Macao attractions from Feb. 3 – March 8. From Feb. 23 the 13 sculptures from the outdoor lagoon area of The Venetian Macao will be moved to locations around Macao until March 8.

“Creative Creatures – Art and the Chinese Zodiac” is fast becoming a tradition for The Venetian Macao and is an important example of the company's efforts to contribute to local creative industries.

This year's edition of “Seasons of Prosperity” will see the return of the popular 3-D light and sound spectacular. This year there are new elements, including spectacular visuals for the Year of the Monkey. The extensive façade of The Venetian Macao will be transformed to take visitors on a journey through Chinese culture between 6-10:30 p.m. from Feb. 5 – 22.
