Holiday Cornwall is celebrating a bumper summer season with the release of a short film showcasing the delights to be found around its clusters of high end holiday cottages between Falmouth, Maenporth and  the Helford River.

The holiday lettings firm has seen a 26% increase in bookings on last year for its waterside and country self-catering properties, via it portal www.holidaycornwall.co.uk , and declares the Cornish “staycation” is very much here to stay.

“Cornwall in general is a wonderful place for a holiday but we believe our Falmouth to Helford niche is the best bit of all - and we've commissioned our film to show it off in all its colours,” says Holiday Cornwall MD Peter Berry. “We have a wonderful micro-climate here and gorgeous cottages and houses to stay in, but even without wall to wall sunshine there is so much to do to guarantee that precious vacations are filled with happy and interesting memories.”

The film, on YouTube at https://youtu.be/UHMRQtkyHkAA and soon to be found on Holiday Cornwall's new website, was produced by Plymouth-based Sound View Media – a team of former ITV broadcast professionals who have crafted a story from the abundance of stunning images filmed by crews on the ground and aerials by the Sound View drone.

It takes in sandy beaches and mouth-watering food, via Henry VIII's castle on Falmouth's Pendennis Point, the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and a tree-top tour of the world famous ravine gardens at Trebah on the Helford. It looks at ferry rides and kayak tours, art and culture, set against the backdrop of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

“We have generations of families who come back here time and time again,” says Peter, “but for anyone who hasn't visited this particular part of the world our little film provides a taster of the fantastic things to see and do and savour. We look forward to extending a warm Cornish welcome to new generations of visitors too.”
