New on the Scene for Lunch & Dinner –
The Spoke on Center
At the corner of Main and Center is the The Spoke restaurant. Find plates with fish, chicken, pork and chili. Burgers are featured on the menu and salads are available. How about a Quinoa salad? Then save room for ice cream.
And Off the Beaten Path -
Bangkok House Thai & Sushi Bar
Bangkok House Thai & Sushi Bar is serving Sushi, Sashimi, Bento Boxes among many other Japanese Entrees. Watch for the red chili beside a menu item to indicate spicy Thai dishes, although all menu items can be prepared mild to extra hot. Find the Bangkok House to the south of town.
Moab Burger Company
Buck's Grill House has undergone a re-design architecturally and delectably. Find duck bacon, buffalo, goat cheese and gluten-free buns dappling the menu, whipped up with homegrown ingredients whenever possible. Find the Moab Burger Company to the north of town.
Perfect Places to Picnic –
Out on the trail, have a sandwich along from Leger's, Red Rock Bakery, Love Muffin, Sweet Cravings, Wake & Bake, Peacetree Café, Pantele's Desert Deli to refortify in order to complete the hike. Or carry sandwiches from these restaurants in an ice chest for sightseeing in the parks. Look for picnic tables on the park map for savoring a lunch. Even mix up the schedule to eat in a restaurant mid-day for the main meal and adding takeout sandwiches for light meal in the evening hiking or sightseeing. Carrying your own ingredients? Find shade in town for a picnic at the Rotary, Swanny and Old City Parks. There is a free map produced by the Moab Chamber of Commerce at the Moab Information Center which is useful to get oriented to the park locations.
For the View –
Red Cliffs Lodge and Sorrel River Ranch at Hwy 128 mileposts 14 & 16, respectively, have restaurants beside the Colorado River, reservations are required. The dinner views are breathtaking, the drive there enormously scenic. In town, the Sunset Grill is perched on the Moab Valley wall with sweeping views of the canyons and rural Moab, especially the twinkling light after dark. Whether dining on the patio or inside behind the ceiling to floor windows, patrons get “The Million Dollar View”. The Sunset Grill was once a millionaire's home. Details will be revealed dining there.
Snug and Intimate –
Jeffrey's Steakhouse and the Broken Oar are just off of Main Street. Discovery of these two restaurants is rewarding. Jeffrey's is a renovated historic sandstone building with a soul soothing atmosphere. The menu is not limited to the hormone free Wagyu style cuts of beef, delicious. The Broken Oar is Home of the Sweet Potato Fries. The log-style lodge is welcoming and the menu diverse. Both restaurants have patio seating as well as seating inside. Devran's Mediterranean and Desert Bistro have ambience and tantalizingly different menu selections. Several hotels are close by to all four of these dinner spots west of Main Street, enabling a leisurely stroll to dinner.
Dinner and Music –
To dial in some entertainment, check out the music schedule in the Moab Happenings, a free publication found in hotel lobbies, campground offices, and store foyers. Peace Tree, Eddie McStiffs, The Blu Pig have a dining area and a spot with music. Club Rio and Woody's Tavern have music in their bar and grill.
