PHULAY BAY, A RITZ-CARLTON RESERVE COOKS UP NEW PETIT CHEF PROGRAM
Krabi, Thailand – Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve is inviting younger guests to unleash their inner chef with its new Petit Chef program. Offered complimenatary to resort guests, the activity allows children ages 5 to 11 to spend a day walking in a chef's footsteps, from selecting ingredients in the resort's organic garden, to whipping up a delicious meal for mom and dad.
The Petit Chef program calls little guests to experience a true taste of Thailand while sparking their culinary imaginations. The educational and fun activity includes a field trip to the Chef's organic garden, including a brief tutorial on the benefits of home-grown produce, and an interactive lesson on how to identify several varieties of fruits and veggies, as well as how to pick and harvest them at the peak of flavor and ripeness.
Following their adventure in the garden, kids will be whisked back to the kitchen for a behind-the-scenes tour and an interactive course in making dishes from scratch from freshly harvested organic produce. Then, the young chefs will serve and present their finished dishes to their parents to enjoy.
The tiny chefs will learn how to make several delicious, yet simple, dishes as part of the Petit Chef program, including Long Yard Bean Salad, Local Spinach Ravioli, Lemongrass Macaroon and a Pandan Butter Cake.
“The Petit Chef program is the perfect way to immerse younger guests in the magic and traditions of Thailand through cuisine,” says General Manager Carlos Tarrero. “The program builds upon Phulay Bay's commitment to sourcing fresh, locally-grown ingredients, and providing rare, exotic and authentic experiences for guests to treasure for a lifetime. The interactive program encourages kids to get excited about cooking, while learning about the importance of organic, sustainable cusine in a way that is wholly unique to Krabi.”
