La Manga Club

La Manga Club has strengthened its credentials as one of the world's leading sports and leisure destination resorts after renewing its agreement as an official resort partner of Tennis Europe.

The multi award-winning venue in Murcia, south-east Spain has signed a new deal to partner with the continental organisation for the next two years.

Under the terms of the new agreement, La Manga Club will enjoy a range of benefits from Tennis Europe who will create new business opportunities for the resort and market it directly to key target groups including 49 national tennis federations, 700 tennis clubs and tournament organisers across Europe.

In return, Tennis Europe will hold international conferences at La Manga Club and have the opportunity to stage regional and pan-European training camps and events at the resort, while La Manga Club will host the prestigious European Seniors Club Tennis Championships later this year in September and potential exciting new events.

Jose Asenjo, general manager of La Manga Club, said: “La Manga Club has had a long and valued association with Tennis Europe, and this new agreement will help take our partnership to the next level.

“The resort has a rich tennis heritage having hosted some of the world's leading players and tournaments, and we're very excited at the prospect of working closely with Tennis Europe and the new opportunities that it will bring.”

Olli Mäenpää, Chief Executive Officer of Tennis Europe, said: “We are delighted to continue our fruitful relationship with La Manga Club. The facilities at the site are first class, and it has proven to be a perfect venue for our high-level tennis tournaments, training camps and conferences alike.

“Many of our member nations have followed suit in taking advantage of the excellent services available to organise their own events and camps, and we look forward to continuing to showcase La Manga Club at a European level in the coming years.”

With an average of more than 300 days' sunshine a year, La Manga Club offers the perfect destination for professional and amateur tennis players to work on all aspects of their technique under sunny skies at the venue's outstanding 28-court academy.

Featuring 20 clay courts, four hard courts and four on artificial grass, the academy boasts some of the finest tennis facilities in Europe and a wide range of academies are available to guests of all ages to improve their racquet skills.

La Manga Club is widely regarded as Spain's flagship resort and, among its recent accolades, it was named as Spain's leading golf complex at the 2014 World Golf Awards and was voted 'Best Golf Resort in Spain' by UK readers of Today's Golfer magazine for an impressive fourth year in a row.

As well as hosting both Davis and Fed Cup tennis matches, La Manga Club is the overseas training base for the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA). It has also staged the Spanish Open golf championship and regularly attracts professional and international football teams to its first-class, year-round training facilities, which are also used by rugby and cricket sides.

In addition to its outstanding tennis academy, La Manga Club's extensive facilities also include three 18-hole championship golf courses and a new Leadbetter Golf Academy – the only one of its kind in mainland Spain – a new High Performance Sports Centre and 2,000m² spa and fitness complex, a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses and more than 20 bars and restaurants.
