Jamaica Tourist Board Is Bringing the 'Home of All Right' to a City Near You

Jamaica Tourist Board

12 March 2015 – Travel agents across the country can look forward to enjoying a taste of the Home of All Right as the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) reveals dates for its UK spring travel agent roadshow and urges agents to sign up now in order not to miss out on Jamaica news and prizes.

The Jamaica Home of All Right Travel Agents Roadshow will see the JTB joined by some of Jamaica's leading hotels and hotel groups, including Couples Resorts, the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, Jewel Resorts, Moon Palace Jamaica Grande and Secrets Resorts. This Jamaica sales mission will travel across the UK visiting agents to train, entertain and update them on the latest news from the UK's favourite Caribbean island.

Each evening roadshow event will be held in various host cities and will give agents a chance to learn about Jamaica and experience a true taste of Jamaica. A delicious Jamaican buffet of jerk chicken and rice and peas complemented by rum cocktails and reggae music and limbo dancing will provide the backdrop to the events, delivering a good helping of Jamaica's unique hospitality to all those taking part.  There will also be chances to win a range of exclusive prizes. By proving they know their stuff about Jamaica in an interactive quiz, lucky agents will be in with the chance of scooping holidays, FAM trip places, goody bags and special surprises.

Glasgow will be the first port of call on 21 April, when the JTB's sales team, led by Torrance Lewis, Donovan Donaldson and Karen Misick, arrive in the city. Glasgow will be followed by a visit to Manchester on 22 April and then Birmingham on 23 April.  To bring the Jamaica roadshow to a conclusion, the final events will be held in London on 29 April and Essex on 30 April.

Torrance Lewis, District Sales Manager for the Jamaica Tourist Board, said: “Travel agents are key to selling Jamaica, which is why we invest in their training. Our robust 2014 visitor figures are testament to that, as last year we grew our UK visitors travelling to Jamaica by over 17% compared to the year before. Our Jamaica Rewards programme is already a very successful way to encourage agents selling Jamaica, as by signing up to the scheme agents can gain shopping vouchers, gifts and Jamaica holidays. However, this roadshow is a great face-to-face opportunity for our dedicated sales team and tourism partners to get out there and make sure agents are fully up to speed on our latest Jamaica news, all whilst enjoying our distinctive Jamaican vibe and hospitality. We'd encourage agents to sign up now in order not to miss out.”
