Guided by the pillars of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Chuan Spa, Hong Kong launches the Journey in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) package, providing a holistic, regenerating journey that nurtures, heals and restores.
Priced at HK$1,850 per person, the package commences with a 60-minute traditional Chinese massage that helps establish a more harmonious flow of “Qi” through the stimulation of meridians, allowing the body to naturally heal itself. The treatment includes the use of hand techniques to massage soft tissue (muscles and tendons), acupressure techniques to directly enhance the flow of 'Qi', and manipulation techniques to realign the muscles and ligament relationships.
The package then continues with a choice of 30-minutes of moxibustion or gua sha. An ancient traditional Chinese practice, moxibustion helps strengthen the blood and stimulate the flow of Qi to maintain general health. It involves the burning of a small, sponge-like Chinese herb known as moxa, to facilitate healing. The practitioner lights one end of a moxa stick and holds it close to an acupressure point for several minutes to bring about a pleasant heat sensation penetrating deep into the skin. Gua sha, literally meaning “to scrape away fever”, involves repeated pressure strokes over the skin using the smooth edge of jade. The scraping helps improve stagnant blood flow and lymph, removes toxic heat and relieves muscle tension and pain*.
A 60-minute signature Chuan Yu facial treatment also using jade, known as the healing stone, follows the gua sha treatment, to help nurture, heal and restore the skin. Gentle scraping on important meridian points increases the flow of blood circulation, to entirely renew the complexion and ensure guests leave with a rejuvenated mind and brighter, firmer and luminous skin.
The Journey in Traditional Chinese Medicine package along with all others at Chuan Spa, provides full complimentary access to Chuan Spa's health and wellbeing facilities including the panoramic Pulse fitness studio, Plunge rooftop pool, and the private Tri-Bathing Ritual areas with oriental hot tub, sauna, steam room and onsen shower, recommended to experience prior to all treatments to fully reap the benefits of thought clearing.
A complimentary pack of Chuan Spa Private Label Five Elements Tea will be given to guests to bring home and continue their TCM journey.
Bookings may be made at (852) 3552 3510 or lphkg.info@chuanspa.com. The package will be available until 31 December 2015.
