It is located under the steep hill called Srđ, and originated in the 13th century. The city has managed to preserve its beautiful gothic, renaissance and baroque churches, monasteries and fountains. The mighty walls with defensive fortresses give him the characteristic appearance, recognizable all over the world. Plitvice Lakes National Park (Croatia) is situated in the mountainous karst area of central Croatia, and extends over 113 sq mi. This magnificent display of nature is one of the biggest attractions in Europe. There are sixteen lakes, in amazing blue and green colors, connected by breathtaking waterfalls. The lakes are connected with pathways and trails, which enables the visitors to see and enjoy the peace and beauty of this natural phenomenon.
Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) got its name due to the guardians of the bridge (mostari) that were set on the river banks of Neretva. We invite you to visit the old city centre with the famous stone bridge, rebuilt after the war, and the bazaar, where you can find a lot of souvenirs either from the Orient or the last war. On both sides of the bridge you'll find countless restaurants with famous 'cevapcici' and other great food, that still shows the influences of the ancient Ottoman Empire. You will not be able to resist the amazing 'cevapcici' with typical bread called 'pleskavica', a real Turkish coffee and a sweet 'baklava'.
Durmitor National Park (Montenegro) is located in the North of Montenegro, in the heart of Durmitor mountain range, 2776 ft above the sea level, making it one of the highest mountain areas in the Balkans. Fantastic road will take you over the mountains and you will follow Tara River Canyon, the deepest canyon in Europe and second deepest in the world after Colorado Canyon.
Ohrid (Macedonia) is a beautiful Macedonian city on the northeast coast of the Ohrid Lake. The city and the lake Ohrid were accepted as Cultural and Natural World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Ohrid is notable for once having had 365 churches, one for each day of the year, and has been referred to as a "Jerusalem of the Balkans".
