Julian Cheung and Charmaine Sheh dazzle crowds and celebrate CNY with Sands for Singapore's beneficiaries
Singapore - Excitement ran high at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands this evening during the glitzy red carpet event of Hong Kong blockbuster movie Triumph in the Skies. The event, which saw leading Hong Kong celebrities Julian Cheung and Charmaine Sheh in attendance, drew thousands of fans to the skating rink and The Shoppes on 16 February.
Marina Bay Sands is the only venue in Singapore to host the gala premiere and red carpet for the highly-anticipated Hong Kong movie.
During the event, several fans scored exclusive movie merchandise when they answered the emcee's questions on Triumph in the Skies. The night ended with an exclusive by-invite only movie premiere at the MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands.
Earlier in the day, the two artists also spent time with 20 elderly members of the Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre, COMNET Elderly Services. The beneficiaries, aged between 56-94 years old, received Chinese New Year greetings and goodies from the stars. The initiative is part of the integrated resort's corporate social responsibility programme, Sands for Singapore.
“I only watch Hong Kong dramas during my free time and having this chance to meet the stars face-to-face is something that I don't even dream about! I will never forget this for the rest of my life, and I appreciate Marina Bay Sands for arranging it,” said Low Tick Nie, 62 years old.
“I am very excited to be able to see my favorite Hong Kong artistes at this age and I think this will be my only chance in my life! Thank you Marina Bay Sands for organizing this,” said Mdm Leong Ah Chun, 71 years old.
Triumph in the Skies opens in cinemas on 19 February, with sneak previews on 18 February.
