Nick is a former travel editor who pioneered the technology that created TravMedia (in 1999) and associated companies (in 2005) Sport4Media.com, Property4Media.com, Homes4Media.com, Fashion4Media.com, Beauty4Media.com and Entertainment4Media.com and Food4Media.
Nick knows the media and understands from his own experience the needs of a hectic travel writer to be able to research material on the go. He was travel editor of Courier Newspapers for ten years and a regular ski contributor to Australia's Sun Herald and Melbourne's Age Newspaper.
Nick is an active member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers, Co founder of the ASTW website and ASTW Committee Member (2001-2002). He also is the media advisor to the Visit USA Committee and works closely with the BGTW and NATJA in other regions. Nick is an advisor to Tourism NSW, Judge for Gourmet Traveler Annual Awards, Judge for Hotel Management Awards and serves on various other Travel Industry Committees, along with the ASTW travel writing awards.
Nick calls Sydney home, although he is a regular visitor to London and New York spending his time equally between these two offices.
Chanel graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Communications Journalism in 2007.
She has worked as a news reader on 2Xl news in the Snowy Mountains and a reporter for NBN news in Tamworth before setting off to explore Europe.
During her 3 years abroad she spent two ski seasons in the French Alpine village Courchevel, working the summer months as a private caterer in luxury villas on the Greek Island Zakynthos.
Originally from Gunnedah, Chanel made the move to Sydney to join the Food4Media team. Chanel now heads up Food4Media in Australia and assist Annie Lyons on TravMedia.
Dominika Dryjski, Vice President, Global Development & Operations
Dominika manages the development of new markets for TravMedia and TravTrade and oversees day-to-day operations of the North American market. She joined the TravMedia North American team late 2009.
Born in Sweden with Polish roots, Dominika spent her life moving between Europe and the States. She graduated with a double major in International Business and Advertising, Marketing, Communications Bachelor of Science degree.
Prior to TravMedia, Dominika had an extensive career in Executive Search and in start up technology ventures.
Henry Hemming, Managing Director, TravMedia UK
Henry Hemming heads TravMedia and sister company Food4Media in the United Kingdom. Henry is a former travel journalist and has more than two decades experience in travel writing together with extensive PR, marketing and sales experience. During his tenure in journalism, Henry wrote for titles including The Times of London, Daily Mail and Travel Weekly. Henry's knowledge of the UK's travel media is second to none.
Henry also is CEO of News4Media who operates Sport4Media.com, Property4Media.com, Homes4Media.com, Fashion4Media.com, Beauty4Media.com and Entertainment4Media.com currently in the UK.
Howard Salinger, Regional Director, TravMedia UK
Howard Salinger is the Regional Director for TravMedia and its sister portal, Food4Media, in the UK. Having trained as an actor, and treading the boards for years, the calling of TravMedia was too strong for Howard, and he gave it all up to convince the UK travel market that they needed TravMedia to help with their media relations. Howard has been working on TravMedia for almost 5 years and is delighted with the success it has become!
The person who keeps the site ticking over, Kate Lindsey joined TravMedia in 2007 having gained plenty of experience working in the Media, following completion of her degree in Media and Cultural Studies at Nottingham University.
Kate also works with Howard on Food4Media.
In 2008, Lauren relocated to Hong Kong to establish the Asia office for TravMedia. As Regional Director Asia, Lauren was responsible for establishing the company's presence across the region; hosting regular media marketplace events, developing trade show partnerships and strategic alliances in the travel industry.
In 2013, Lauren managed the inaugural Australian International Media Marketplace [IMM] event which brought together 80 International media with 60 exhibitors for a full day of one-on-one meetings and networking events.
Lauren is responsible for communications and international relations for both TravMedia & TravTrade.
Malaysian native Maggie Chooi studied public relations and mass communication at the prestigious HCC in Malaysia whilst enjoying a successful career as a professional jazz musician. Extensive touring gave her an insight into the travel industry and brought her to Hong Kong, where she has worked for a number of major players in the media and travel scene, including Clapton R Finance Agency and Turkish Airlines, all the while building up her own events agency, Event Caterpillar, which services the financial and lifestyle industries. Maggie is the Regional Manager, Asia and will manage day-to-day operations as well as strategic growth of TravMedia in China our Chinese language site. A fluent speaker of Cantonese, Mandarin, Bahasa/Malay and English, she brings to her role a poignant understanding of the needs of both the media and the travel and hospitality scene across Asia.
Mark O'Toole has nearly two decades of experience, providing marketing services to the travel industry and supporting the needs of the media. He has worked with companies in all areas of the travel industry, including e-Travel, Amadeus, StudentUniverse.com, WorldRes and many others. Mark also was a founding member of New England Cable News, the country's largest regional newschannel. He has had deep involvement in the National Business Travel Association and ACTE in the past. Currently, Mark is on the board of directors for the Freedom Trail Foundation, representing one of the country's most noteworthy historic and cultural landmark attractions. He is a frequent traveler and understands the challenges and opportunities in today's travel landscape.
Shane Boocock, Managing Director, TravMedia NZ
Shane has 20 year's experience with the New Zealand media and tourism industry. He has recently published two travel guides on Auckland and New Zealand. Shane has written travel articles for the New Zealand Herald, NZ House and Garden, On Holiday Magazine and AMEX Platinum Magazine. Shane has exceptional contacts in New Zealand and is well known amongst New Zealand's travel writers.
Sharon Garrett, Managing Director, TravMedia Middle East
Australian-born and educated, Sharon Garrett heads the TravMedia Middle East office. Sharon has more than a decade of experience providing marketing and public relations services to the international hotel industry and supporting the needs of the media. With five years experience in the Middle East, freelance travel writing and co-presenting a weekly travel show on Dubai Eye radio 103.8FM, she has a strong understanding of the expectations of both the industry and the media.
