Aqua Expeditions invites guests to meet and interact with children of the local communities as part of a very special experience on its Amazon and Mekong river cruise adventures in Peru and Vietnam.

On its Amazon cruises, Aqua Expeditions participates in an initiative called Pack For A Purpose supporting a range of local projects including Peru's Community First Aid Centre servicing more than 14 communities along the Amazon with medical supplies and providing writing implements, clothing and shoes to children of the Riberenos (Amazon River inhabitants). Aqua Amazon and Aria Amazon passengers are also invited to offer support if they wish. Aqua Expeditions is currently in the process of introducing Pack For A Purpose initiative to its Aqua Mekong cruise activities.

An exciting off-shore excursion from Aqua Amazon and Aria Amazon takes guests to towns including Puerto Miguel and Clavero, and cities, Nauta and Requena.

At elementary schools such as Puerto Miguel School, guests can mingle with local teachers and parents, and learn about native, local Peruvian culture and traditions.  They are also given the opportunity to purchase local crafts or even join in a game of soccer.

Aqua Mekong visitors to Binh Thanh Kindergarten in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, will be 'hosted' by children aged 3 to 5 years who come together, many in their first social setting, to learn self-respect and respect for those around them and enjoy activities including painting, singing, playing musical instruments, storytelling, baking, sports and fun in the playground. The team at the Binh Thanh nursery works hand-in-hand with parents to identify each child's educational goals and to keep them informed about their child's progress.
