WHAT: The 2013 General Assembly of YMCAs will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from July 18-21. The Assembly is held every three years and is the premier opportunity for Y professionals to engage with Y-USA and with each other, to renew the organization's mission to strengthen communities. 

As part of the conference programming, YMCA staff and volunteers will participate in local give-back efforts including a Book Drive and Packing Party with donations going to Y childcare centers, Tree House Books, Philadelphia Reads, Delaware County Literacy Council and Cradle to Crayons; a 5K Run and Fun Walk with proceeds benefitting youth swim lessons at the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA's inner-city branches and a Blood Drive with blood donations going to the American Red Cross Penn-Jersey Region.

Assembly speakers include internationally acclaimed thought leaders Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Sally Hogshead and Malcolm Gladwell.
