Worldhotels brings international buyers group to ITB Asia 201

WorldHotels

(Shanghai, November 12, 2013) - Worldhotels once again demonstrated its strong commitment to helping member properties grow their businesses by hosting at this year's ITB Asia a large contingent of specially invited buyers, some of whom came from as far away as South America.

The group has now participated in all six editions of the annual travel market trade show, an event that draws companies from all over the globe, from multinational corporate giants to small individual hotels. This year's ITB Asia took place on 23 - 25 October at the Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore, and according to the organiser over 9,000 visitors attended.

Buyers Worldhotels hosted included companies from Argentina, Russia, Australia, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, India and the UK.

Also participating in the show were the following Worldhotels affiliate properties: Airport Hotel Basel, Caravelle Hotel, Carlton City Hotel Singapore, Hotel Fort Canning, RIHGA Royal Hotels, Sutera Harbour Resort, The Garden Hotel Guangzhou, Worldhotel Amiana Nha Trang and Worldhotel Grand Dushulake Suzhou.

As a way to facilitate business networking and promote the success of its clients and partners, Worldhotels joined with esteemed champagne brand Pommery to host a cocktail gathering in the early evening of the first day. Invited buyers and representatives of member hotels were among more than 100 people who attended. Worldhotels also cooperated with Pommery on events earlier this year in Barcelona and Istanbul.

This year the group continued its sponsorship of Web in Travel (WIT) Conference, which included a well-received seminar jointly helmed by TripAdvisor and Edward Perry, Worldhotels Global Senior Director of Social Media, OTA Partnerships and Innovation Projects, held in conjunction with ITB Asia. The WIT Conference focuses on innovation, new technology and the latest in Asia's digital travel space - areas that Worldhotels invests in heavily so as to ensure its hotel marketing services remain at the forefront of the industry.

"We took a multi-pronged approach in planning our participation in ITB Asia this year, not only bringing buyers to the show but also working hard to create networking opportunities and to raise our brand's visibility at the event," said Roland Jegge, Worldhotels Executive Vice President Asia-Pacific. "The result was the generation of an abundance of promising new relationships for the group and for its associated properties, and we will be following up with these new contacts in the months ahead."
