MACAU - Thursday, August 1, 2013: City of Dreams, the flagship integrated resort of Melco Crown Entertainment Limited ("Melco Crown Entertainment") (SEHK:6883) (Nasdaq:MPEL), once again affirms its reputation as one of the world's most innovative and exciting entertainment destinations, by bringing together illusion master Franz Harary and Hong Kong Sweetheart Fiona Sit, in a "Houdini Performance" today to kick off the highly anticipated "Franz Harary Master of Magic World Tour" at City of Dreams, Macau.

 

City of Dreams presented a death-defying stunt performed at The Lagoon. The audience was spellbound as they witnessed Illusionist Franz Harary and Fiona Sit being handcuffed to each other and locked into a packing crate. The crate was then picked up by a construction crane and suspended ten stories above the crowd. As the two entertainers struggled to escape, suddenly and without warning, the box exploded causing them to almost fall to their deaths. Then, in an instant, the two entertainers vanished into thin air, leaving only the shattered box hanging high above The Lagoon. Moments later sirens were heard in the distance. The audience looked behind them to discover Harary and Fiona racing back to the spectators by ambulance in a magical reappearance, before concluding the event.

 

Born with true artistic talent, Fiona Sit is one of the most popular singers in Hong Kong, and renowned for her fresh and unique personality and singing style. She is passionate about the arts, not only in producing beautiful melody, but also creating innovative artworks that have been displayed in exhibitions. She was thrilled to be involved in such an astounding illusion, and commented, "Magic is omnipotent. This breathtaking stunt will be followed by three shows at the Grand Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Macau on Friday, August 9 and Saturday August 10, 2013. The 80-minute spectacle will feature some of the master illusionist's most stunning feats, including a recreation of the Jackson Spiker, an illusion created for Michael Jackson's 1996 "History Tour" in which he was locked into a steel coffin and penetrated by 50 steel spikes. "Franz Harary Master of Magic World Tour" promises to be one of the most fantastic international events ever to be offered in Macau for its visitors.

Franz Harary is a world-class magician performing only illusions designed and engineered by himself. Over the years, Harary has been performing globally and set records selling out stadiums and arenas. His "Mega Magic" includes making the Taj Mahal vanish and transforming a car into an elephant at the Singapore Zoo. In addition to performing his own magic live, Harary is known for creating magical effects for superstars such as Janet and Michael Jackson, Usher, Justin Bieber and Ayumi Hamasaki, breaking new ground with innovative live illusions and bringing back magic as a viable element in today's concert productions. Some of his created illusions have also been used by other top magicians such as David Copperfield and Cyril Takayama.

 

Franz Harary will be joined in Macau by three international talented magicians - Mexican magician Joaquin Ayala, who is regarded as the most famous Latin American illusionist of all time, the award-winning Rocco Silano from the USA, and the illusion duo Magic Wave from the Netherlands with their stunningly original style, which combines magic, juggling, illusion and a powerful musical beat.
