Home to extraordinary experiences, Western Australia welcomes a wealth of new and revitalised tourism product to ATE 2016.

In 2015 Perth welcomed the arrival of a 'new' neighbourhood – Cathedral Square. Comprising the Perth Town Hall, new City of Perth Library, St Georges Cathedral, new office building, and its centrepiece – the State Buildings – a wining, dining and retail precinct housed in 140-year old heritage buildings in the CBD. Retailers include acclaimed WA fashion designer Aurelio Costarella, chocolatier Sue Lewis, skincare brand Clean Slate and jeweller Rohan Jewellery, while the new wining and dining venues include David Thompson's Long Chim, Petition Beer Corner, Petition Kitchen, Petition Wine Bar, rooftop restaurant Wildflower and late night bar Halford.

The precinct is also home to COMO The Treasury, which has been recognised as one of the best new city hotel's in Australia. The hotel comprises 48 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a bar, COMO Shambala Urban Escape, gym, pool and a level of luxury and service not seen before in Perth.

Alex Hotel (attending ATE) is a 74-room boutique hotel, centrally located between Perth Cultural Centre, the CBD and Perth's most diverse neighbourhood, Northbridge. The hotel caters for business and independent travellers, and includes a roof terrace garden, open plan living areas, and a European-style restaurant, Shadow Wine Bar and Dining Room. The new accommodation option opened to the public in 2015.

Crown Limited has shown its long term commitment to Perth with its decision to develop a new six-star, luxury hotel, Crown Towers Perth. The 500 room luxury hotel will add to the suite of accommodation options at Crown Perth, taking hotel room capacity to nearly 1,200 rooms.

Captain Cook Cruises (attending ATE) has launched a new cruise, taking in some of Perth's new experiences and trends. The business has teamed up with local breweries and bars to create a full-day Fremantle Craft Beer Tour and Cruise. Another Perth cruise company, Mandurah Cruises (attending ATE) has launched new cruises, including a one-hour Dolphin and Scenic Canal Cruise and a Sundowner Cruise, taking guests through Mandurah's world-class canals and waterways.

The picturesque island of Rottnest is undergoing a revitalisation with a number of local operators launching new product offerings. Rottnest Fast Ferries (attending ATE) has acquired a second vessel, MV Voyager, allowing the business to operate 365 days a year and offer more services on a flexible timetable. It has also launched a Coastal Cruise, which travels along Perth's northern beaches. Rottnest Express (attending ATE) has introduced two new tour packages, including a Discover Rottnest Bus Tour package and a Guided Bike Tour of Rottnest Island. And in an accommodation boost for the island, Rottnest Express has teamed up with Broome's Billi Resort to develop an ecologically sensitive, world-class eco-retreat, located at Pinkys Beach. Pinky's Eco Retreat and Beach Club will comprise 29, four and five-star eco-tents, each with their own ensuite and a high level of comfort, 10 affordable two bedroom 'family' tents, and 35 backpacker or budget tents.

Adams Pinnacle Tours (attending ATE) have launched a new Grand Island Tour at Rottnest Island. The 3.5 hour all-inclusive tour departs daily at 11am and takes guests on a complete island circumnavigation.

Segway Tours WA (attending ATE) has added Elizabeth Quay to its Riverside and West tours. The Riverside adventure is a one hour tour which takes guests to some of Perth's most scenic spots including, Elizabeth Quay, Swan River foreshore, Barrack Square and the Bell Tower. The West tour also includes Elizabeth Quay, touring past Kings Park to UWA.

Eco-friendly bush camp Sal Salis (attending ATE) has lots to celebrate in 2016. The exclusive property has expanded its accommodation offering, introduced a brand new lodge and has launched whale shark and humpback whale interaction tours. Exmouth Diving Centre (attending ATE) has acquired a new vessel, providing guests with an upgraded tour experience on board a 16-metre 53-foot boat, Jazz 2.

Following the November announcement of humpback whale swim trials starting at Ningaloo Reef (new to the region), a number of tour operators in the region have released their prices and tour structure. The tours will combine the whale shark tour model with the whale watching eco-tour, with in-water interactions dependent on the whale's behaviour and the weather. It's anticipated that the season will start in August.
