Walk The Cape Wrath Classic Route - One Of Five New Guided Trails For 2014

HF Holidays

Five new guided trails in the UK and Europe - walking with a small group in a sociable and friendly atmosphere and accompanied by an experienced leader - have been introduced into HF Holidays' walking programme for 2014.

For example, head to Scotland and enjoy a walk through remote terrain along the most northerly section of the Cape Wrath Classic route - a 55-mile stretch from Cape Wrath to the west coast fishing village of Lochinver - taking in an amazing wilderness and a range of wildlife such as eagles, red deer, divers and gannets.

Other highlights of the holiday include walking along Sandwood Bay, ascending the dramatic pointed summit of Ben Stack, viewing the Great Stack of Handa from a chartered boat and visiting the bird reserve on Handa Island as well as seeing the highest waterfall in the country - Eas a Chual Aluinn - and walking through the wild scenery beneath Suilven.

Available on selected dates, the cost is £825 per person, twin-share, inclusive of return transfers from Inverness airport or rail station, seven nights' full board hotel accommodation, all transport on walking days and the services of an HF Holidays' guide.

Also new for next year is the Mont Aiguille Trail in France - with the route starting in the medieval town of Die at the southern end of the Vercors massif and ascending to the Hauts Plateaux overlooking the huge limestone tower of Mont Aiguille.  Highlights include one of the country's wildest natural reserves - home to a diversity of flora, fauna and bird life - along with limestone gorges and cliffs and Alpine meadows.

Available on selected dates, the cost is £1050 per person, land-only or £1275 inclusive of rail travel from London to Grenoble.  These twin-share prices also include transfers from Grenoble, seven nights' full-board hotel, all transport on walking days, luggage transfers between hotels and the services of a local, English speaking mountain guide.

Other new trails for 2014 include short break options walking the Ardudwy Way in Wales, plus the Herdwick Trail and the Two Passes Trail in the Lake District.
