Visit Mesa Launches Adventure Guide, a New Resource for Outdoor Visitors

Visit Mesa

Visit Mesa has released its new Adventure Guide, a comprehensive resource for visitors and residents looking to explore the outdoor recreation opportunities surrounding the city. The guide is available digitally at VisitMesa.com and in print at the Visit Mesa Visitor Center.

The guide spans five categories (hiking, mountain biking, water sports, rock climbing and off-roading) and features curated trail recommendations, local tips from outdoor experts, seasonal activity breakdowns, itineraries and sustainability guidance for responsibly exploring the Sonoran Desert.

Highlights of the Adventure Guide include:

  • Hiking: Five featured trails ranging from the easy Hieroglyphic Trail in the Superstition Mountains to the demanding Reavis Falls Trail, a 13.1-mile backcountry route.
  • Mountain biking: Coverage of Mesa's Hawes Trail system, Desert Trails Park and Usery Mountain Regional Park, with recommendations and tips.
  • Water sports: A breakdown of float options on the Lower Salt River, paddling access at Saguaro Lake and Canyon Lake and fishing guidance.
  • Rock climbing: Routes from beginner climbs at Usery Mountain Regional Park to advanced climbs in the Superstition Mountains.
  • Off-roading: Guided UTV, ATV and Jeep options through Four Peaks Recreation Area, Bulldog Canyon and beyond.

In celebration of the 2026 Salt River tubing season, Visit Mesa and Visit Phoenix have partnered to launch a collection of Salt River-inspired apparel, with proceeds benefiting Natural Restorations. This nonprofit organization hosts volunteer cleanup events throughout the year, helping preserve and restore Arizona's natural landscapes through trash removal and replanting efforts. To date, Natural Restorations has removed more than 2 million pounds of waste from the state's outdoor recreation and wilderness areas.
