Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel has completed the installation of the Royal Mayfair Suite and the Royal Hyde Park Suite. The Royal Suites join a beautifully restored suite collection of Premium Park View, Park View and Executive Suites (a further 40 suites).
In “The Next Chapter” of a compelling Grosvenor House story, the £7.4 million suite project directed by GA Design, has maintained the historic luxury and grandeur of the hotel whilst infusing a more stylish, contemporary British feel.
Grosvenor House has commanded its position on Park Lane since opening its doors in 1929. Steeped in a rich and fascinating history, historical features such as original Lutyens wrought iron gates and the iconic Great Room, once an ice-skating rink, have welcomed guests for over 85 years. It's quintessentially British style and elegance has long been associated with Royalty, international dignitaries and celebrities from the worlds of film, music and sport.
The Royal Mayfair Suite and the Royal Hyde Park Suite were named with both the hotel's royal heritage and prime location in mind, with designs and finishes taking inspiration from the hotel's rich and historical association with global travel and British innovation.
Grosvenor House is known and loved for its sense of style and sophistication and giving guests a home away from home experience. That beautiful elegance remains in the Royal Suites, with palettes of warm neutrals and accent s of colour echoing the changing seasons of Hyde Park. Large format commissioned artwork, sculptural ceramics and framed imagery closely combine with the leafy location of Grosvenor House and the interconnectedness of travel during the early years of the new 20th Century between London, New York and Paris.
The Royal Mayfair Suite seamlessly allows guests to blend relaxation and productivity with a private, state-of-the-art study. The Royal Hyde Park Suite will charm those wanting to entertain, with its grand dining room for 12 guests and artwork rich in colour and tone throughout. Both are 170 square metres in size and are complemented with additional interconnecting guest bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a return airport transfer, private suite check-in and a dedicated service line.
Each Royal Suite (from £5,000 per night) has a large bedroom and walk in wardrobe, a grand living room, kitchen complete with modern fixtures, guest bathroom and spacious, double vanity marble bathroom with rain shower feature, standalone bath tub and is outfitted with premium Aromatherapy Associates amenities. A signature Royal Suite scent is provided by British candle maker, Timothy Dunn. Allowing seamless connectivity for guests, enhanced bandwidth internet access, iPad, Bluetooth radio, speakers and Samsung Smart televisions are on hand.
“We are excited to have completed the latest chapter of our story. Our Royal Suites pay homage to our fascinating past whilst acknowledging the excitement of our future with a fresh, present day relevance to suit the expectations of today's accomplished global traveller,” says Stuart Bowery, General Manager at Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel.
Stuart adds, “Our enriched suite portfolio takes our total inventory to 496 bedrooms and suites and joins our newly refurbished Executive Lounge which opened at the end of last year. A brand new suite has also been crafted in the position of the previous Executive Lounge and we have named this suite The Howard Suite after Howard Hartley, one of the Hotel's longest standing team members with over 30 years of service and hotel ambassador to visiting overseas families and Heads of State.”
Grosvenor House guests can enjoy an incredible location in the very heart of Mayfair to explore all that London has to offer. Luxury shopping districts of Mount Street, Bond Street and Knightsbridge are a short walk away, with many cultural art galleries, museums, theatres and royal sites such as Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace and the Royal Albert Hall within walking distance or a short taxi ride.
