Featuring 104 unique trips that focus on truly authentic & local Insider experiences that go beyond the expected
Singapore, November 7, 2013 - For Trafalgar (www.trafalgar.com), travelling to Europe is all about the immersive experiences and as the Insider of guided holidays, it means seeing the continent from the inside by taking guests deep in the heart of each destination and interacting with the cultures and local people.
For the launch of the company's 2014 Europe & Britain programme, Trafalgar invites travellers to discover these 44 diverse regions with their choice of 104 enhanced itineraries, enabling them to explore the most iconic sites as well as the less travelled places.
Trafalgar's 317 exclusive Insider European experiences take travellers beyond the expected with their 52 Be My Guest dining experiences, Unique Insights that are not found in guidebooks, Local Experts who can provide further insights about their hometowns, and stays at charming Authentic Accommodations.
"We've done exhaustive research over the past few years, both on-site and by word-of-mouth, to make sure that we're offering Europe's most incredible and authentic travel experiences for our guests," said Nicholas Lim, President of Trafalgar (Asia). "It's not enough for us to take our guests to the typical spots around Europe - through our unique Insider experiences, like touring Belfast with a local cabbie and sharing canapés with ballerinas in St. Petersburg, we provide them with the opportunities to weave their own travel stories."
To kick off the launch of the new brochure, Trafalgar is offering savings of 10% off 2014 Summer Europe & Britain guided vacations (save up to $1,700 per couple).
For 2014, Trafalgar introduces three new itineraries that reflect their enhanced Insider moments, uncovering hidden treasures and their passion for travelling differently with their knowledgeable Travel Directors:
The Balkans & Venice
From the stunning natural beauty of Plitvice National Park to the ornate Byzantine architecture of Venice, this new 13-day trip of contrast feeds the growing demand for travel to the Balkan region. The majority of the trip is spent exploring the diverse regions of Croatia, and after a 30-minute drive through rocky scenery, travellers descend upon the enchanting village of Osojnik, where they are led to the beautiful rural household of the Muhoberac family. Three generations of the Muhoberac family will share their musical talents, with the grandfather playing the mandolin and the children teaching folklore dances, as guests then learn to cook delicious Croatian cuisine using twigs over an open fire. In Dubrovnik, they'll enjoy a Be My Guest dining experience at a local oil mill where their hosts will create a traditional meal with fresh Mediterranean herbs and homemade drinks.
Northern Spain
A new destination for Trafalgar, this 11-day journey explores both the modern landscapes and mountainous terrains of Northern Spain. Travellers will discover the iconic coastal towns of San Sebastian and Bilbao, as well as the religious pilgrim city of Santiago de Compostela, and in Argomanniz, they check in to one of the company's Authentic Accommodations, The Parador Hotel, a Renaissance Palace that boasts Napoleon as one of its guests. Outside of Oviedo, guests meet up with the Castanon family at their cider mill and sample the local specialty before sitting down to an Espicha dinner of Spanish omelette and spicy chorizos cooked in cider. Throughout the trip, their Travel Director also introduces them to the renownedBasque cuisine including the local Pinchos - tasty dishes that are similar to, but more finger-food style than the traditional tapas found in other parts of Spain.
Wonders of Europe
Slower-paced, Trafalgar's At Leisure holidays gives guests longer stays and longer lie-ins in each destination, and the new 17-day Wonders of Europe is the first multi-country Discovery trip to be included in the program. A Local Expert in London will have guests engaging in all things royal, as they follow in the steps of the monarchy and visit Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. After three nights spent weaving their way through the romantic cobblestoned streets of Paris, the group continues on through France to the medieval city of Beaune to dine at the Michelin starred restaurant Le Clos du Cedre, where they'll whet their palates with French culinary delights like foie gras and gourmet cheeses. In Lucerne, Venice and Rome, it's all about the perfect blend of included sightseeing and personal time for guests to create their own travel itinerary, whether it's sipping on cappuccino with the locals on a narrow street off of St. Mark's Square in Venice or wandering the city to find the perfect postcard-worthy shot of Lucerne's 14th century Chapel Bridge.
